Biography

Dua Lipa (/ˈduːə ˈliːpə/; Albanian pronunciation: [ˈdua ˈlipa]; born 22 August 1995) is an English singer, songwriter and model. After working as a model, she signed with Warner Music Group in 2015 and released her eponymous debut album in 2017. The album reached number three on the UK Albums Chart, and yielded seven singles, including "Be the One" and "IDGAF", and the UK number-one single "New Rules", which also reached number six in the US. In 2018, Lipa won the Brit Awards for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.

Released in April 2018, the single "One Kiss", with Calvin Harris, reached number one in the UK, and became the longest running number one single for a female artist in 2018. It won her the 2019 Brit Award for Song of the Year. In 2019, she also received the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, and "Electricity", a duet with Silk City, won her the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. The success of the singles helped her self-titled album become one of the most-streamed albums on Spotify and achieve platinum certifications. Her second studio album, Future Nostalgia was released in March 2020, to critical acclaim. Its lead single "Don't Start Now" reached number two on the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100. - Wikipedia

I want 'Hallucinate' to get as high as it possibly can to break this cycle of artists not being able to have hits with post-album sungles.

Biography

Chris Brown

Greeted with comparisons to young Michael Jackson and Usher, Chris Brown arrived in 2005 as a squeaky-clean pop-R&B artist with "Run It!," the first debut single by a male artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in over a decade. While there was nowhere to go but down, at least in terms of chart positions, the singer, dancer, and occasional rapper was only getting started. Within a few years, Brown became one of the biggest active pop stars with Chris Brown (2005) and Exclusive (2007), multi-platinum albums that produced five more Top Ten singles, including "Kiss Kiss" and "Forever." As a featured artist or duettist, he added to the count with hits such as "No Air," a ballad with Jordin Sparks. By the end of the decade, Brown underwent a stylistic makeover during which his forebears shifted to the likes of Jodeci, R. Kelly, and 2Pac. This, and a more drastic change in public image, did little to slow his commercial momentum. His streak of Top Ten albums was sustained with releases such as Graffiti (2009), the Grammy-winning F.A.M.E. (2011), and Fortune (2012). Brown's artistic scope has since continued to widen with Heartbreak on a Full Moon (2017) and Indigo (2019), albums as long as epic films. - iTunes

Young Thug

You don’t get a lot of warning for an artist like Young Thug. From his warped delivery to his radical, gender-fluid fashion sense, the Atlanta rapper (born Jeffery Lamar Williams in 1991) flies in the face of every unspoken rule for what hip-hop is, should, and could be. Starting with a prolific run of mixtapes in the early 2010s, Thug rose by pioneering a weird, ever-shifting flow somewhere between singing, rapping, mumbling and squawking—pushing rap forward by pulling it apart. But the weirdest thing about what he does is that it works: Nearly every project Thug’s released since 2015—from the reggae-inflected JEFFREY to the country-ish sides of Beautiful Thugger Girls—has cracked the mainstream, laying the groundwork for a new crop of fellow eccentrics like Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti. In other words, Thug hasn’t adjusted to convention but brought convention to him. Genuinely experimental, he frames his process in modest terms: “I’m in the studio so much, I’ll just try stuff,” he told The FADER in 2013. “I just think and try, think and try.” - iTunes

Biography

Juice WRLD

Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Jarad Higgins would freestyle rap through his school hallways. As a teenager, he began recording as Juice WRLD (a nod to the 1992 film starring 2Pac) and set his eyes on stardom. “My biggest fear is not getting to the point I want to,” he told Apple Music in the documentary accompanying his 2018 Up Next campaign, “but that’s also my biggest strength.” His distinctive, genre-blending take on emo rap—Auto-Tuned vocals, hints of pop punk, and beats inspired by Chief Keef and Chicago drill—shines on the breakthrough singles “Lucid Dreams” and “All Girls Are the Same,” which plumbed grief and regret and heartbreak with alarming honesty. Just five months after his star-making debut project, Goodbye & Good Riddance, he released a full-length collaboration with Future that felt like a euphoric, decadent victory lap. His second full-length solo project, Death Race for Love, released in March 2019, continued to mine personal pain for maximum drama, while collaborations with BTS and Ellie Goulding exhibited his range. Juice WRLD passed away in Chicago in December 2019 at age 21. - iTunes

Marshmello

Marshmello might just be the unlikeliest pop star you could imagine—the anonymous DJ/producer is known only by his cartoonish, marshmallow-shaped mask, with its broad smile and big, sympathetic eyes. But given the way his music has resonated, he’s clearly the pop star we needed. He got his start with an equally unlikely fusion of tough-as-nails trap and candied EDM, and as early fans debated his identity, a co-sign from Skrillex gave singles like 2015’s trance-laced “Find Me” a viral boost. On Marshmello’s debut album, 2016’s Joytime, his signature qualities began to come into focus—the wistful vibes of “Summer,” the playful melodies of “Blocks,” the chilled-out cool of “Keep It Mello,” featuring deliciously laidback rapping from Omar LinX—but it was the nostalgic “Alone,” with its twin nods to 2000s emo and 1980s electro-pop, that solidified his persona. (“Alone” also kicked off a string of clever coming-of-age-themed videos that reinforced his essential relatability.) Since then, Marshmello has gone from an EDM curiosity to a ubiquitous fixture in pop, using collaborations with artists like Selena Gomez and Logic to further his singular brand of fun. - iTunes

Biography

AJ Tracey

West London grime MC Che Wolton Grant (aka AJ Tracey) rose through the ranks of pirate radio, becoming one of the leading figures in U.K. grime's second generation of artists. Grant knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in music, due in part to his parents; not only was his dad a former rapper from Trinidad & Tobago, his mother was a former drum'n'bass DJ from Wales. By age six, Grant had started writing rhymes, coinciding with the first great boom in grime. Although the genre temporarily lost its way, Grant soldiered on, unwilling to give up on his passion for grime. By the time he had reached his early twenties, grime had started another upswing. During this time Grant became proactive in his pursuit of radio spots, working his way up through pirate radio before scoring appearances on Rinse.DM, NTS, and eventually even BBC Radio One.

With his reputation in the world of radio firmly cemented, Grant released a string of EPs, beginning with The Front EP in July 2015, followed by the Alex Moran EP later the same year. In 2016, he further solidified his status as an emerging talent, with a combination of solid collaborations, more radio appearances, and the release of the Lil Tracey EP. The end of 2016 culminated with Grant's nomination yo BBC's Sound of 2017. That year saw him release a handful of EPs and singles including Secure the Bag and "False 9," as well as dabbling in production on "LA4AWeek." The following year Tracey delivered his first U.K. Top 20 single, "Butterflies," followed by the Top 40 single "Lo(v/s)er." Alongside the release of the singles, Tracey also worked on his debut album. The self-titled release dropped at the beginning of 2019, featuring a wide range of influences, including Afrobeat, dancehall, and country. - iTunes

Mabel

Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey (born 20 February 1996) is an English singer and songwriter. In 2017, she had her mainstream breakthrough with "Finders Keepers", peaking at number eight on the UK Singles Chart. Her debut studio album, High Expectations, was released in August 2019 and entered the UK Albums Chart at number three. It spawned the UK top-10 singles "Don't Call Me Up" and "Mad Love". Mabel has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Premios 40 Principales for Best International New Artist in 2019 and the Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist in 2020. - iTunes
