I believe the girls won't have a deluxe version which might hinder them.
It will be close though it always seems that when Kylie is “expected” to do well she never really does. Like Body Language semi-flopped at no 6 after Fever was a global phenomenon, X underperformed when there was such immense goodwill and hype for her comeback and Kiss Me Once flopped during her stint on the Voice.

She seems to perform best when she’s the underdog, like for Golden and Light Years.

Look at sales not chart positions

From memory I think Body Language did ca. 70,000 on week 1 and X did ca. 85K, so not really flops

did a quick search for their first week sales for comparison:

Body Language 69K

Ultimate Kylie 82K (116K in week 3 and 131K in week 4)

X 82K

Aphrodite 79K

Kiss me once 29K

Golden 48K

Step back in time 32K

DNA 53K

Salute 35K

Get weird 60K

Glory Days 96K

LM5 56K

Little Mix will sell more in the long run but I think Kylie could do very well first week and even sell about 60k or more.
Yeah Little Mix have more album variations than ever before (By a mile). It's definitely not set in stone yet.

Smaller amounts made of cassettes? More purchases from an international base? Who knows.

Kylie is selling a vinyl single for £13 she isn't going to short of money haha

It's the signed versions that are sold out, as those are never unlimited. It's probably limited to around 4k signed albums as it takes ages for the artists. They'll probably put up more on release week though.

X sold 82k in its first week and over 450k overall. It was far from a flop in the UK. Body Language has sold nearly 400k. Peak positions aren't the be-all and end-all.

I would really love Little Mix to get another #1 on release week but still think Kylie will smash it.

I'm hoping The Search helps sales of the album for Little Mix though and it does better than LM5 (Not that LM5 was a flop but definitely was a messy time with leaving Syco etc)

I think Little Mix, only just though. I'd normally say Kylie easily but LM have put plenty of different versions out for sale too (plus I think they may even add more on at a later date) plus the promo of the show on BBC, they have more support from radio, and more promo probably available to them. Still think Kylie will do really well too

We’re looking at these numbers through a 2020 lens when these would be huge numbers, both first week and total sales. The fact that X came in at no. 4 behind Shayne Ward‘s second album, of all people is really telling. It was billed as the biggest comeback of the year and spent 2 weeks in the top 10. Similarly, Body Language spent one week in the top 10 following the massive success of Fever (which spent 20 weeks in the top 10). Neither were huge flops, but they definitely underperformed compared to what people were expecting.

I would say X and Body Language Kylie was defo still singles artists foremost then albums artist. Now she is very much albums artists in a different stage of her career

I think BMG will monitor closely and have things ready to release.... Being an Xmas market they may already have special cassette, vinyl, CDs for end of Nov, beginning of Dec that they could release during first week also.

Number 1 is not be all and end for Kylie. She could easily release a new version end of January and top charts again on a low sales week so all is not lost ..

With new bundles for Kylie she risks people cancelling their originals and buying a new bundle so what ever she releases extra has to be separate items like a picture disc or a Cassette collection

i’m the biggest Kylie fan in the world but it seems like Little Mix has it in the bag theres no competition...Kylie will get another number 2 album... she should move back or forward her release date in order to stand a chance...

Body Language basically ended Kylie’s international career... the singles were only successful in the UK and to a lesser extent Australia...

Kylie and she won’t need to reduce to £4.99 or sign a million copies to achieve it - queen of loyal stans and physicals.
