Literally. The only thing that hits harder than the chorus (especially the second half) is a sledgehammer. I don't know what people must have been expecting 😭

 

I even think the verses slap quite a bit. Probs my fave verses of the era. The song is a full 10/10 to me.

I love the verses in the song, they flow so nicely and IMO the only "downside" to this is I can already see the comparisons to Touch because it's structured the same way, and I feel like this should've had a "Touch"-esque breakdown instead of Leigh singing a slowed down version of the chorus for the bridge.

 

Perrie's verse when she sings "he would lie, he would cheat over syncopated beats" is my absolute FAV line in a Little Mix song. I have no idea why I just love it, Perrie's delivery >>>> (Probably because the meaning of this song fits her relationship w/Zayn so well lol)

Funny. I've been walking around singing "he would lie he would cheat over syncopated beats" for hours now 😭 obsessed. Also love when the instrumental drops out when Jesy sings "i stopped in my tracks". I just love it. Bridge could have been a bit better but i'll forgive it

 

A couple listens later and the chorus f***ing slaps - this is so addictive.

Bit worrying that it hasn't entered NZ or Aus yet.. and I still can't get the NMF to load on my NZ spotify to see their placement

Eeek. I'm not a huge fan after a few listens. The du du parts I find really annoying and take away from the hype of the song. Hoping the video will change my mind tomorrow.

Looks like they are aiming for that high debut which is very good to see. Remix and MV on release day? I imagine this would help so much towards the charts as they usually give their songs a good boost.

 

 

Track 19 on NMF AU/NZ

This is awful, it doesn't make sense that NAPS got such high listings everywhere.

 

I know that it was the first song after a few months BUT you'd think their team would see to it that SM got a decent placement that was definitely higher than NAPS and Happiness.

Yeah I would think labels get to prioritise placements of songs they send to playlists?

 

This single is essentially launching the album. It should have a lead single type of push.
