I think some of it will be how willing the respective teams are willing to engage in the battle during release week. It’s clear that both can sell a couple of thousand very quickly by signing copies, so I imagine there will be more of that during release week. Both Kylie and Little Mix did that during their last release week. I also wouldn’t be surprise to see reduced prices on iTunes and Amazon during the week to try and encourage sales.

Got a signed copy of Disco from HMV finally! I’ve only bought 3 CDs this year so the signed one really pushed me to buy it, Kylie better get that hand to work this week :P

All music shops going to be closed for this week's battle. Will possibly hit Kylie harder.

 

So it's streaming, downloads, online sales and maybe supermarket sales only.

 

Little Mix now have their show on Friday and Saturday of release week.

I don’t think music stores really make much difference to sales anymore - the same for this myth of supermarket mums buying albums on release week. It’ll probably come down to how effective their promo is as well as incentive purchases for their fanbases such as signed copies and new bundles.

More desperate more like, 5 different covers is pure desperation and I remember years ago when I think JLS or another pop group did it they were slated on here, Little Mix do it and it’s all of a sudden ok 😂

Kylie as of yet hasn’t really done a great deal of promotion. Little Mix seem super hungry for it at the minute, but that might change come release week when Kylie is everywhere. The radio deal to promote the album she has with the Bauer group (Magic, Kiss FM etc) might help too.

 

There’s nothing desperate in shifting albums - that’s the idea.
