Posted September 25, 20204 yr DRAG RACE ULTIMATE VILLAINS RATE THE RESULT Most of our regulars voted, including your stunning moderation team, and we'll be kicking off the results shortly! We have a winner, a top ten, and a ranking of which seasons had the best (worst) villains in Drag Race herstory! except Holland, Thailand 1 or Thailand 2 First up will be the five queens who scored an average of less than 4 points each! Any predictions?
September 28, 20204 yr Author #45 KENYA MICHAELS Surprisingly enough, it's (lil) Kenya Michaels who comes rock bottom of our first inaugural Villains Ranking. Kenya placed (an imo unmemorable) 5th in the much-lauded Season 4 of the show, outplacing fan faves like Willam and Dida Ritz after her return to the competition. Kenya was best-known during her time on the show for being a fishy queen with some questionable runways that were yet called safe, for the shady letter she wrote (or 'wrote') criticizing some of her fellow competitors after her exit, and for her infamous final lipsync where she completely got the vibe of the song (Natural Woman) wrong vs Latrice Royale's emotive performance. Kenya scored on average 2.65 points including two 0s and one -1. #44 JASMINE MASTERS Next up it's Jasmine Masters who scores just above Kenya a points average of 2.69. These days best known for "and I oop" among other viral rants and videos, on her first season (7) Jasmine was better known for her harsh criticisms of fellow contestants. She probably benefits here from season 7 not being that well-remembered among the fandom. Jasmine received two 0s, three 1s and no score above 5 keeping her average below her fellows.
October 1, 20204 yr Kenya definitely right to be low tbh, didn't like her but that's not the point here - not a villain!
October 2, 20204 yr I watched S4 unucked for the first time recently and the whole kenya letter thing really came out of nowhere. i guess they wanted a dramatic moment when they brought her back but ??? she is way more congenial than villain
October 3, 20204 yr Author #43 AQUARIA The winner of season 10 is next. Aquaria started out as something of a villain on her season, but by midseason proved herself to be willing to learn and apologise for past mistakes and moments of selfishness. She became broadly popular during her season as she showed versatility, being able to turn he hand to comedy and dance as well as showing off her body and fashion skills. She received mostly low scores in this rate including a -1 from me, but a 10 from Nina West bumped her up beyond Kenya and Jasmine, overall scoring an average of 3.19. #42 ILONA VERLEY Ilona's our first Canadian cookie now hailing from the recent (first) season of Canada's Drag Race. She was generally not too badly resented during her time on the show, as evidenced by her low placing here, despite several temper tantrums with the other girls in her cast and something of an attention seeking manner. This was offset by her active interest in representing her community, and marginalised people, of which she falls into several categories herself. Since the show she's been involved in some more drama that the forum may or may not be aware of, including allegedly stealing from her drag mother and criticizing venues for not booking her, omitting that she was not booked due to past poor behaviour in those venues. However, she's young and has plenty time to grow (up). Ilona scored an overall 3.77 average, picking up three -1s which were offset by a majority of somewhat higher scores. #41 MANILA LUZON Just before top 40 we have Manila Luzon! Manila was a somewhat divisive figure on her original run in S3 being both clearly extremely talented, able to turn her hand to many different aspects of the required Drag Race skills, but also being an active part of the bitchy 'Heathers' clique that set themselves apart from the less glamorous queens on that season like Shangela. Manila remains active in the Drag Race extended world and is today best known for her All Stars 4 run and her All Stars 1 run, both of which left fans frustrated with how she was 'robbed'. By modern standards, Manila is a lot less of a villain than some of the queens yet to come. She picked up one -1, one 1, and one highest score of a 10 from Nina West to come out with an average score of 3.81. Top 40 next!
October 3, 20204 yr I completely forgot to submit a rate for this, apologies Jupiter! :drama: Glad to see Aquaria finished very low down! :cheer: Ilona on the other hand... awful, awful, awful.
October 14, 20204 yr Yeah none of these I'd consider villains as such. Manila is probably the most for Season 3 but had a turn around on AS1 and AS4. Aquaria started off rough too but its mainly post drag race that I've grew to like her
October 19, 20204 yr Author #40 GINGER MINJ And we're into the top 40, with the first of two sets of queens who scored an average of more than 4 but less than 5. First up of those, in 40th place overall, is Ginger Minj! Ginger started off season 7 as broadly likeable, but as the season went on a storyline developed where she was negative to and intolerant of the younger queens on the season, and incited her fellow older competitors to be similarly intolerant. Ginger was also indirectly/directly responsible for the elimination of fan favourite Trixie Mattel by dropping them into the B2 together when working as a team due to her poor dancing skills, and then eliminating her in that lipsync. However, Ginger was also well-liked on the season by fans due to her iconic acting performances, and was one of the more memorable parts of the otherwise quite forgettable season 7, as well as performing well on All Stars 2, possibly the most popular Drag Race season among fans. I'd also personally recommend her music! Ginger scored an average of 4.15, mostly 5s and 6s, with a 10 from Nina West and a -1 from CianS as her highest and lowest scores. #39 AIDEN ZHANE Aiden Zhane was something of a divisive figure on Season 12, being both bullied by Brita and the disqualified queen (in the edit we saw), but also being spared what many fans considered a deserved B2 placement for her lazy and basic outfit in the Ball episode, leading directly to the elimination of fan favourite Rock M Sakura. She was also dragged by her Snatch Game actress outside the show for portraying her falsely as if she had a drug problem and was senile, when she is on the contrary, still a working actress, and clean. Aiden mostly served unpolished looks through her run on Drag Race, often falling back on the same wig, and was quiet and standoffish around the werkroom. However, she showed a lot of growth at the series reunion and finale later this year. Aiden scored a 4.19 average, with high scores coming from Addy (9) with blacksquare, 152chris and Nina West awarding her lowest (1)s. #38 BAGA CHIPZ Our first UK girl drops now, with one yet to come! Baga was very funny on season 1 of Drag Race UK, but not at all polished, and many felt that the judging spared her some deserved B2 or Low placements that led to her outpacing other more polishd queens in the competition. Despite ultimately placing 3rd, she was awarded the same winner's prize as top placer The Vivienne - a WOWPresents show - leaving fan favourite Divina De Campo, who placed 2nd, out in the cold. Some show fans were also upset at how Baga treated her mother on the makeover episode, mocking her weight and disability on the runway in front of everybody and live cameras. Overall though, most scorers thought Baga didn't deserve too high a villainy score, and as such she places 8th lowest of all the queens in scope, with an average score of 4.69. Her highest score was a 9 from Addy and lowest a -1 from Lukuzz.
November 12, 20204 yr Author #37 VIOLET CHACHKI Hot on the heels of her season 7 sister, comes season 7 winner Violet Chachki. Violet was seen as bratty and uncooperative at the start of her season, delivering some stinging one-liners to her fellow queens, and generally coming off a little haughty. The season's main story arc followed enmity between the older and younger queens, led respectively by Violet and Ginger Minj, with some bad blood on both sides. In the scheme of things though, in my view Violet's villainy was comparatively minor, and largely forgotten about now by virtue of S7 itself not being particularly memorable. Violet scored a high of 9 from George and a low of 1 from Addy, giving her a total average of 4.73. #36 COCO MONTRESE Season 5 and All Stars 2 (remember that!) alum Coco Montrese is next. On her first season, Coco was the main starter and stirrer of her season/years' long feud with Alyssa Edwards, and seemed to always be starting fights and/or playing the victim. Coco was a fairly polished queen on the season and lipsync assassin, sending 3 of her fellow queens home before finally being eliminated following her own 4th lipsync, an impressive record. Coco's run on All Stars 2 was short, following a somewhat bizarre performance in her first episode leading to her elimination. Whether or not Coco and Alyssa's enmity was genuine is still up in the air - but in retrospect, their fight on season 5 paled in comparison to the more iconic ongoing battle between Jinkx Monsoon and Rolaskatox which was much more immersive. Coco scored an average of 4.83 with a high of 10 from Addy and a low of -1 from both George and Lukuzz. #35 DETOX And speaking of Rolaskatox... the first of that group drops out in 35th place. Detox was known on her first season, S5, as being something of a spiky and shady personality, verging on being irritating at times when making noise in the werkroom with Roxxxy and Alaska while the others were trying to focus. Detox had a high opinion of herself, but as an experienced and polished drag queen, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Coming 4th in season 5, Detox went on to be a runner-up in All Stars 2, where she exhibited great fashion sense and somewhat more mature judgement than in her first season. One of many people's favourite queens, Detox continues to make a name for herself outside the show in live performances, comedy, and music. She scored an average of 4.85 with highs of a 10 from Nina West, and a low of -1 from George.
November 26, 20204 yr Author #34 VENUS D-LITE Our highest first out comes in at an impressive #34 in the list. I actually didn't have much issue with Venus D-Lite on her season. The Madonna impersonator struggled to get off the ground in season 3 and was undone by an over-busy design challenge, putting her in the lipsync with Shangela, who promptly destroyed her. Despite only being there for one episode, Venus picked up several 8s, a 9 and a 10 in the rate. Aside from her challenge performance, she is most known for her plastic surgery to look like Madonna, and her scrappy lipsync which involved her making physical contact with Shangela, pushing, and destroying her outfit. Drag is not a contact sport, ladies! except when Alaska does it and gets wins for it Venus overall scored an average of 5 points dead, with Nina West providing her lowest, a 1. #33 RAJA Our third winner in the villains list is out next, with the head of the Heathers clique of season 3, Raja. While best remembered for her stunning fashion looks now, on her original season, Raja was notable for her sharp tongue and verging on bullying behaviour at points towards certain of her fellow competitors. While she remains shady and at times cutting on Fashion Photo Ruview, her youtube series with Raven, time has mellowed some of Raja's crueler moments or turns of phrase and she is now a much softer, if stern, personality. Raja's highest score was a 10 from Nina West and lowest a 2 from Addy; her average rating came to 5.04. #32 LAGANJA ESTRANJA Are you there God? It's Laganja. Everyone's unfavourite green goddess is next in our rundown. Annoying as she was, Laganja ended up being a bit of a victim in season 6 after a run of bad fortune in the midseason and negative critiques from the judges, as well as interpersonal drama with her fellow queens. Laganja had some iconically bad moments in the season, but was generally more irritating than outright villainous. Since the show, Laganja's released some music (including this gem) and worked on her (already impressive) dancing. There have also been rumours of her appearing on a future All Stars season, watch this space... Laganja's highest score was a 10 from George and lowest one of Leww's -1s; her average score landed at 5.08.
