October 2, 20204 yr When will we get the official ratings with the iPlayer and late views counted in? Tomorrow or Saturday I think! It's still 4th on most popular a week later which I imagine is pretty great. Edited October 2, 20204 yr by 365
October 5, 20204 yr Author I don't follow ratings at all, but you all were expecting far too much from consilodated ratings and they're more in line with what I expected lmao. Oops. I've been out the loop with UK ratings for a while so I have no idea what the bars are that could have been achieved etc.. I was surprised to learn today that Eastenders is "only" pulling in 4-ish million viewers nowadays and it's one of the top rated shows? TV is dead rn. (Plus as we've said previously, this is such a niche concept in that the prize is to support LM on their forthcoming tour. 62 year old Betty isn't going to be interested ) The critics reviews (and general reviews on social media etc..) are incredible. Maybe I'm not so concerned about the ratings due to expecting/knowing it was only ever going to be a one series thing. If a 2nd series was reliant on it, then I'd care more tbh.
October 5, 20204 yr That's true about Eastenders, but it's far from being the top rated TV show - even The Chase pulls in millions more than that currently. The first episode of Bake Off this year had a consolidated rating of 10.8 million, which is particularly massive being on Channel 4 (though this is quite irrelevant to LM )

EDIT: But yeah, The numbers are well in line with my expectations lmao. So *shrugs*
October 5, 20204 yr TV ratings ain’t what they used too unless an England match is being show on TV  This is probably doing about as well as what a new series of X Factor would do. What types of figures does BGT get these days is that like 4-5m?

What types of figures does BGT get these days is that like 4-5m? BGT got 6.0m for its most recent episode, which is quite low for it. A proper series of the X Factor hasn’t been on for a couple of years but was getting around 4-5million. X Factor:The Band last year was getting around the same, maybe slightly higher, than what LM are getting :)
October 5, 20204 yr You have to be a Little Mix fan to watch the show. Casuals who don’t listen to their music won’t give a shit. I know I would never watch if it were JLS or 5 Seconds Of Summer as judges. If you don’t personally like the artist then there’s no motivation to watch. Also as has been said before these sorts of shows are dead. There’s been tons of singing shows and the public are drained. We’ve saw every possible ‘moment’ before on bigger shows before (X Factor), plus BBC One is a strange place to host one of these shows anyway. They can promote it all they want but they shot themselves in the foot by putting their name in the title and being so ‘prominent’ in the first episodes. Maybe if there was a different audition process/judges until the live shows then the girls took over? I dunno.
October 5, 20204 yr I agree with the show name being an issue - "The Search" would have worked just fine. And I guess the prize doesn't help too. Casual viewers won't be as invested when the prize is a supporting act slot on LM's next tour. It's also been a little unclear whether the winning group would receive a recording contract at the end though one would presume so.
