Aston gave an update on the tour when he guested on the 'Greatest Music of All Time' podcast:

Basically they're none the wiser re: if it'll happen at the time it's meant to given their rescheduled dates start before June 21st and it's all just proposed dates of easing lockdown atm. I imagine (and hope) they'll reschedule it for next year because it'd be nigh on impossible to put on the tours they do in such a short space of time, nor am I confident it'll be safe enough for gigs of that size to go ahead so soon in the piece but I guess we'll know when we know!

Tours are (finally) looking much more likely next year, so hopefully there will be some new music by the end of this year!

I thought there was some new music from them last week Yeah hopefully it won't be too long to wait, it's been so long now!

Tour confirmed for reschedule to October and November this morning. They have also confirmed today that they have signed a new record deal with BMG:

It's so weird, I was thinking that'd be the ideal label for them just the other day! Especially with the success they've had with Steps, Kylie and McFly in recent months. Bring on the bops kings!

BMG will probably do really well with them actually!

If they can get McFly success in 2020 I think they could squeeze a pretty decent selling album out of this.

I agree BMG have had really good success bringing more 'heritage' acts as it were to present day achievements. Excited to hear what a new single could sound like too!

It's not actually JLS by the way! It's a drill song by Switch and J9 but somehow was credited under JLS' Spotify page and wasn't corrected by the OCC.

It got monster high streams one day because people actually thought it was JLS though, so on that basis I'm interested to see how an actual JLS comeback will do.

(Watch BMG release it on Thursday when streams won't count and their one day of curiosity streams get wasted entirely)

As much as I didn't rate most of their music they were a BIG deal between 2009 and 2011 - especially for the schoolgirls who collected all 4 variations of their albums, lunchboxes, condoms etc. I think they're fast approaching their "nostalgia phase" now that it has been 12 years since their rise to fame and nearly 10 years since they split.

It will be interesting to see how their new material compares though. Their original stuff sounds very dated these days and now they are in their 30s they need material with substance.

Not gonna lie, I low key still listen to "The Club is Alive" on a daily basis. #guiltypleasure

The Club Is Alive is a flaw free slay

I’m looking forward to new material, although given how A Billion Lights performed, I dunno if they can have another chart hit but maybe.

I’m excited to have new material for the tour though

From The Sun today:

DOUBLE Brit winners JLS are back with the songwriting team who penned their No 1 smash Beat Again.

The reunited boyband are working with Wayne Hector and Steve Mac for their comeback album after signing a new record deal with BMG last month.

Aston Merrygold told us: “We went to the first JLS album heavy hitters – Wayne, Steve, Ale Tenant and Talay Riley. I’m all for the original JLS vibe as people loved it.

“It obviously needs to evolve because we’re grown men now but the standard is set.”

Very excited at "original JLS vibe"!
