Some solid results, I’d hoped Klum would be a little higher up the scoreboard but it still did well. Incredible debut for Lookylion and I loved Bellamia’s entry too.

This thread was quite a rollercoaster for Ela Minus then! Seems like she got a ton of points from the earliest voters and another ton of points from the latest voters with very little inbetween :lol: so would have done pretty much the same if Chez had announced the votes the other way around after all! Really happy to have come top 10 again, I had a good feeling when I first found the song that it could do this well so yay for my instincts being on point, take that oddsmakers/predictors etc. B-) thanks v much again to all who voted especially Jake/Dandy/Noche/Harve x In the spirit of my continued avoidance of filling in the unique positions in the top 10 though how typical is it that Elëdan post-deduction ended up literally less than 1 point behind me blocking me from coming 8th for the first time *______* (also how could I forget... it achieved the ultimate victory of beating Klum Rep :cheer: I did like the Little Jinder song and it's a bit of a shame to see yet another Klum Rep underperformance but I did honestly think all along this one was being a little overpredicted unfortunately!)

 

V happy with Tei Shi winning and I never voted to veto it so my conscience is clear on the potential controversy of it winning after being vetoed :whistle: after Jake having so many 2nd places since last winning. I was sure when I saw that TARO Bellamia and Lookylion were tied that it was Lookylion taking 2nd place as it felt like they were getting points from nearly everyone but I guess TARO Bellamia were sneakily doing the same! Welcome Joseph to the club of people with 2 2nd places and no wins, I could relate for a few months back in 2014 xo 3rd place and over 300 points is still an excellent start for Lookylion and it was a great debut entry from them, here's hoping they can keep up the quality with future entries!

 

As usual I was only really following a few songs so I kind of missed some of these songs becoming top 10 contenders - I'm sure Aeroche were like 11th the last time I checked but of course they end up making the top 5 again :lol: and Taahino completely came out of nowhere for me but happy to see them picking up another top 10 hit! Also pretty pleased with Mosquetania getting another top 5 (breaking the Vera curse, all it took was a good song!!1) and that entire 7-10 section is all fab, Hatari outperforming their Eurovision result as I hoped and Blanck Mass #defyingtheodds to come top 10 *.* all in all has to be one of the better top 10s we've had in a while, only one song in there that didn't at least make my commiserations! (well 2 including my own song lol)

 

Would have been great to see Vülkyria making the top 10 too but 12th is still pretty good for such a quirky entry! Solid top 20 results for Niceland, Quintessa and Danæviia too, and not too bad results for Hendinia/Republic of Adonia/POPHub as I didn't expect too much from them (especially Adonia). Biggest disappointment here is Ojnoj as this was a massive grower for me and I thought it was one that would appeal pretty strongly, whoops! Would also have liked to see FLJ and Terra Avium a bit higher.

 

And of course a big congrats to Cor Lupus for an impactful wooden spoon :clap:

I mean, congrats Jake, a very good song and just about my favourite of the top 3, though Lookylion was certainly also enjoyable.

 

Klum should have been higher, a clear 18 for me, though I was surprised a bit that it was being predicted so high all the same.

the top end of the board is amazing! farc, bellamia + lookylion were amongst my absolute faves! if taahino swapped with aeroche it’d be my fave top 5 of the year! such a great bunch of songs.

leaving the world of niche entries behind and trying to appeal to the pop hoes next month. I have a bunch of Spanish-language potentials so I might just try throwing all of them at the wall at some point and seeing what sticks. the one I'm thinking of is the most BJ-friendly tho I think~
