October 24, 20204 yr Sweet Melody, absolutely! A successful and solid single would revive their status even more and have a much more meaningful impact on their career than a #1 single propelled by their fanbase. Hopefully we get both.
October 24, 20204 yr Obvz both are preferable to me, butttt as long qs the album has a healthy chart life, the #1 isn't as important. So, I voted for Sweet Melody going top 5/10 and having longevity.
October 24, 20204 yr I’d like both but for now a long standing song in the charts is what they need more.
October 24, 20204 yr They are a singles act - they NEED a massive chart single, as lovely as a #1 album would be.
October 24, 20204 yr They would get more out of a longstanding hit as that would rise their profile and make future singles more noticeable for radio etc than a #1 album which could end up still being a low seller in the long run despite hitting #1....
October 25, 20204 yr I voted for Sweet Melody being a long running hit. It all depends though on the album like say for instance they debut at #2 but it has a strong chart run I’ll be happier than if they went to number one but it dropped like a stone after. Longevity over peak. But I’d love them to get another #1 album! They should continue their top 5 streak but a number one for them would be amazing on album 6, 9 years into their career!
October 25, 20204 yr I'd say a hit single is more important for them at the moment, especially as they are usually seen as a singles act and a good top 10 would run would be very good for them after Holiday failed to do so. Ofcourse a #1 album would be good for them as well, but that seems way more important for Kylie, their competition during release week.
November 11, 20204 yr Thing is with a hit single it increases their longevity in terms of radio play and ‘buzz’ and also sell the album anyway and tour tickets. It shows the GP is still fully invested in you. A #1 album can be amazing or it can just show that your fanbase is here for you and that’s it (The Vamps)
