A bunch of Christmas songs making big climbs on Apple, reckon we could see a large number chart officially this week.

On the equivalent week last year, only Mariah (#59) and Wham! (#80) charted

 

I think Mariah could easily be top 20!

Actually no, it went top 100 and was there for some time. Plus, it has almost 10m streams on Spotify, so I’m not sure where you’re getting that from.

 

Oh, you're right actually. I was just remembering that it dropped out the day after it entered and I dug back to the thread from April to verify that. Apparently it re-entered after that which I didn't think to check as I have no memory of that happening. My bad, sorry for the unintentional gaslighting Steve :lol:

 

(it still never made the top 50 though - it peaked at #76 and was in the top 100 for six days, and had 24 days top 200 in total, it was definitely a much bigger hit on Apple though as it was in the top 10 there for the entirety of its first week)

I think it will probably be the Radio 2 CIN song but it wouldn’t completely surprise me if it’s Ariana! The track is growing on me too.

I wonder if the 2019 remaster of Driving Home for Christmas is combined with the original?

too bad the BBC2 song is doing so badly on Spotify, they could have added to HH and that would have given them a few streams at least

hard to predict what it's gonna be, it's done 20 times more than Billie and Little Mix on iTunes x 2 days now... so if Billie and Little Mix are doing 500 copies a day,

that could easily mean 20,000 copies a day... but hard to know cos iTunes sales are at its lowest, Ariana barely did 1K during the whole week last week and

she wasn't doing half bad...

It's funny that people are going for the Xmas classics and not venturing to stream the new Xmas songs

even if some are pretty high on Christmas Hits, the main playlist, including Ava Max and Taylor Swift

With Apple pushing the BBC radio 2 song it's only going to need 40k downloads to be #1 this week with a few thousand streaming sales.

Santa Tell Me will be starred out for a few weeks, until it overtakes 34+35 probably
