November 1, 20204 yr Author 'safety net' has been my favourite collaboration right from listen #1  I find the execution of it so gorgeous. Both Ariana and Ty deliver such a smooth vocal performance. The production really takes me back to classic r&b and the backing vocals add another haunting layer, on top of the lyrics talking about fear of falling in love again. I love the chorus and "fight or flight" lyrics especially. Stunning. 'motive' then comes 2nd with its fun Craig David 'What's Your Flava?'-esque hook and I'd welcome that as a future single. 'off the table' then 3rd, the one I was most looking forward to due to past form with 'Love Me Harder', but it does feel like a bit of a slog. They both sound great but otherwise I find that 'safety net' takes a similar theme and presents it more effectively. Could be a grower. 01. safety net 02. motive 03. off the table
November 1, 20204 yr 01. motive 02. safety net 03. off the table 'Motive' is wonderful, the disco/funky sound from Ari is something I've been wanting for ages  Doja isn't really needed but her verse works. Ari's vocals are cute af on the song, there's a vulnerability to them. (cliche alert x) 'Safety Net' is a close 2nd, it's started creeping up in my affections again and Ty is perfect for the song, as you say Jade both of them are so slick and smooth. Off The Table might be the worst song on the album D:
November 1, 20204 yr safety net is my favourite and it was actually the one I had the least hype for pre release! My list is pretty much the same as yours right now Jade! I think off the table will grow but as far as her work with The Weeknd goes Love Me Harder wins.
November 3, 20204 yr It’s honestly Safety Net and I didn’t think I would say that when I saw the names of collabs but Ty Dollar Sign done a great job on the song!
