Yep streaming is the problem.

Kylie is only 132nd on Apple streaming which is it's lowest position yet so that's an indicator.

She isnt promoting though so that's why she isn't even selling £4.99 albums.

Truth is - she did a great great front loaded job of promoting this album last yr so she probably doesn’t care now. Also, not like a K appearance on a top rated show will massively increase sales anyway. She’s probably thinking of the next project. One thing with K is that she’s very balanced in her appearances - she doesn’t overdo it to a point where people are fed up of her.
Ya she doesnt do the over exposure, there was a possibility she did at the beginning of her music career which is now a long time ago. I do agree i think as it stands both Kylie and the label will be happy with the success of Disco and everything now is a bonus.
I know with sales there is little between number 70 and 90 but im disappointed its not top 75 and now slightly worried it might fall out of the top 100 which i didnt expect at all this week.
Down to #90 today.

:drama:

Regardless though I’m still proud of what it has achieved and hopefully it will rebound throughout the year when things can happen again.

It seems inevitable that it’ll miss the Top 100 this week. It’s only 20 sales above #101. When the streaming is all accounted for on Friday it’ll drag Disco down quite a few more places. #118 is still the forecasted final position.

This era is sadly beginning to feel a bit dead in the water. I truly hope it can have a bit of a revival at some stage. I just wonder what else BMG can do with Disco. It’s not the easiest task to revive an album that has dipped this low down the chart. Real Groove isn’t encouraging great sales as the current single, which has strong Radio 2 support.

Sadly, I can’t see disco recovering much unless there’s a reissue later in the year post lockdown.
Ya the resissue if it happens is the only thing to really get it back up the charts again but it should tip along getting 1k sales a week for a while and slightly higher if we get more singles.

But let's be honest. Nothing is selling in big numbers or at premium prices.

The streaming has knocked it down the charts that's all. And not even streaming of new albums it's just playlisted songs

She is on a break form doing any promo.

Pretty sure she will comeback with a bang.

Plenty more to come this year am sure.

Better for an album to disappear then comeback as a RE or NE

Real Groove is keeping streaming on Spotify numbers up, especially the Dua Remix. She is still on 8.7m and would have been more 3-4m by now

Very happy with what it is doing.

She was supposed to do a biggish charity gig mid to end of Feb but guess that has been cancelled. BMG will have a 12-18 month timeline for Disco

She is deliberately lying very low no doubt as she is on holiday somewhere lol

Let’s all stop being so dramatic. Things will pick up with the next single, she will be back in the UK promoting single 4 from March and it’s rumoured the video was already filmed.

Yep.

She has just sold really well in Q4 which is what they wanted.

There are lots more things she can do to sell the album to different markets around the globe even if still via Zoom calls/performances etc

Hopefully Kylie is writing and recording remotely in Melbourne for another album to be released at the end of the year. Then in 2022 she can tour with tracks from both releases.

She loves the success and probably has a lot of energy at the moment to continue the success.

That would be the ideal scenario.

I doubt it. She still has the collaboration with Jessie Ware and the duet with Robbie Williams. I don't think we will get an album until late 2022.

I like features.

Those can sell Disco too if she can tag on to the album or EPs etc.

She has had 3 number 1 albums in a row and there is a lot of love for her at moment in UK. Dua has added even more credibility.

What I would really love is Kylie to be put on a real Summer Bop. I really don't mind if a dance artist samples something too

I did not foresee Disco having to fight so hard to remain Top 100 this week.
