It was a slur in the 80s as well but in the context of the song it is a brilliant line and lyrically the song is brilliant but I’m happy to listen to the uncensored version myself as I understand it isn’t as accepted for all people and the feelings it brings up for them!

‘Flowers’ is cheeky but not misogynistic It’s an ode to polyamory so very modern.

can't believe it's exactly 21 years since Kirsty passed away today, what an awful and heartbreaking story it is. : (

I don't think Flowers is misogynistic per se, but I do think it is glamourising a nasty type of lifestyle, I wince a bit at it though it doesn't help that the song itself is shit (not that it's really comparable to FONY!).

Always interesting that TOTP generally allowed Xmas songs on post Xmas day episodes but guess it could well have been a rerun of one recorded in December 91!

I've now puzzled as to why they don't censor scumbag but they did censor scummy in ArrDee's Oliver Twist.
