Using the C U Next Tuesday word is hardly girl power, but at least it's better than the studio version of W.O.M.A.N.!

Ok, I’m a bit of an insomniac, so I went down the rabbit hole. These are the only discrepancies that I noticed. I hope this helps some. I’ll try to find the appropriate links from Spice News or other

I never found credits for All We Need, so that is definitely interesting to see. It’s been a good 15 years since I searched publishing for the Touch era writers. I kinda lost interest and was more int

I quite like it, I agree with above comments it isn't really album worthy but would have served nicely as a b-side and being one of their stronger ones too. Also would have been better for Spice 25 than Feed your love (although really we should have got both!)

the reclamation of the word c**t has been a massive feminist stapple of the last couple generations, same with the word queer. It is rude still, but alas it would have been amazing for a group like them to take that on.

Nonetheless, it should have been a bside or at least in the Spice25 campaign, for sure!

Wonder if the orange one has it?

Who is the orange one? Lol. And do we have official title and year for this?

It was registered as Likely Stories and apparently it was recorded in 1995

Who is the orange one? Lol.

He Who Must Not Be Named. :arrr:

Joking

Anyone have an hq album cover for unreleased spice girls songs?

Something that’s 1000 by 1000

I need to update these songs with some album art

It is ok. I prefer Feed your love tbh.

Just dumb that this stuff is sat in the vaults when it should be on streaming services gaining streams and money. A 'unreleased' or 'rarities' album is a no brainer, it costs nothing and no one expects it to be as good as Spice or Spiceworld.

Former and twice impeached president of the USA, of course! Apparently he's a closeted SG fan:

#GoGoGo to #Mar-A-Lago to find a real #WOMAN, but, #If Ya Do, and she's #TooHot, make sure to #Treasure her, especially if you are only staying #Overnight.

:teresa:

Crown it.

You're all f#$%in' welcome.

I doubt I’ll listen to this often same as Feed Your Love.

The production is quite interesting though.

It's baffling why some of the girls would veto Likely Stories off of Spice 25. It's the perfect type of song that would be released on an anniversary edition of an album.

I like the track. It's nice to have a new group song

Well if I was Victoria I wouldn't want anyone hearing those vocals on that opening verse either. She sounds like someone trying to impersonate someone who cant sing.

Oh I'd say I prefer Likely Stories already. It's punchy, catchy and cheeky - and I don't think it outstays its welcome as an overall listen. Someone suggested to me that its genre is close to Trip hop, I'm no expert but maybe that is indeed the name for the vibe of its production?

Feed Your Love has a nice sensual vibe to it but it's a bit of a slog towards the end, way too repetitive when it could easily be a minute shorter and not lose anything of particular value. According to my Last.fm I only played Feed Your Love 6 times... 4 times in July 2021, once in August 2021 and once in November 2021.

Can honestly see myself playing Likely Stories more than that pretty quickly.

Using the c word isn't feminist and the whole "reclaim words" thing is bs 🤷 So happy they skipped this one, hopefully on true feminist hero Gerita's demand.

I know you are joking only cos you labelled Geri has a feminist, which she said she isnt :teresa: Plus, she votes Tory and there's no way you can be a tory and a feminista.

ANYWAY can we go back to the actual point: It was Geri who blocked its release for being 'too rude' wasnt' it?

Quick. Someone change the font colour of the song title letters to white!

BAM...on streaming. Just like that! :teresa:

Was just listening to C U Next Tuesday again and I'm still so happy we got it finally :w00t:

Also, this is a really good video. The editing is quite cool and charts their whole career

FML is much better but there is no reason to keep this song in the vaults!!

I think what I love the most of this and Feed Your Love is that they show how risky they could be as a group. Both songs were deemed too 'explicit' for their fanbase which is why they were not included at all in the original releases, not even as a bside.

But both show a level of experimentation that was very little seen in girl groups at the time, both sonically and lyrically. A girlband singing about sex and blow jobs, and about calling a guy a c**t? Unprecedented, for sure. They did manage to get away with some sexual innuendo of course, specially in 2 Become 1, Last Time Lover and Naked, but beyond that, not much cos they had their young fanbase to entertain, I guess...

Sonically, both songs really take unprecedented paths to a nice blend between British trip-hop (think Elastica, Blur) and R&B (Janet Jackson) that is quite interesting in my opinion, and could have been really revolutionary in ways that could have expanded the message of acceptance and inclusivity quite nicely!

Really, really glad we got this. At the moment, it is one of my favourite demos from the 90s we've heard so far. It would go:

1. Right Back At Ya (pop)

2. Feed Your Love

3. C U Next Tuesday

4. A Day In Your Life

5. Pain Proof

A lot of the others out there are quite bad imo. I never liked Strong Enough (shit lyrics, jesus christ...) or Give You What You Want (too similar to any of the singles from 5ive).

Now we need to hear WOMAN, Serial Killer and Overnight! Those are the next Spice Holy Grails :P
