Playlists may not dictate the specific order that songs appear on the charts, but unless you’re on a popular Spotify playlist it’s unlikely you’re going to chart at all outside novelty songs.

Be interesting to see streams on Saturday for next weeks chart!

Wonder how many songs will get over 1 million on Xmas day, last year it was 9 year before it was 13

just checked and last year on the 23rd both Mariah and Wham did 600K-ish

and this year they're both above 900K, thats like a 50% increase which is crazy

Numbers are gonna be insane. The global record will probably fall tomorrow (for the third year in a row). Currently 12 million
Its annoying that tomorrow's Spotify numbers won't count cause it seems they'll be huge for Xmas songs, but its seeming more and more likely now that the biggest single day streams will be broken which will help them in next week chart

Did everyone lose Whamageddon and cave in now :kink:

I guess we’ll also see the entire top 50 as Christmas songs on Christmas Day for the first time. It was 49 last year with Dance Monkey the only survivor
on Apple Positions is also ahead of Afterglow
I think Mariah and Wham could do well over 2 million on Xmas day
Is this the first 23/12 Spotify chart Wham has taken over Mariah?

Cliff entering the top 50!

‘Snowman’ also at a new peak of 28!!

With ACR applied the top 10 is still all Christmas songs with positions at #11, Whoopty at #18 and Ed at #20
Is this the first 23/12 Spotify chart Wham has taken over Mariah?

Nope. Wham! were #1 and Mariah was #2 on 23/12 in 2017. However, the gap between Mariah and Wham! is narrower this year than in 2017. This year, it’s only 200 streams. In 2017, it was 2,533 streams separating them.
