ATL is SO overrated - I mean it’s a really good song but not Top 2 worthy out of her entire catalogue IMO

That's exactly how I feel about on a night like this.

Thanks so much, it has been such a pleasure doing this as Kylie is my all-time favourite singer. Ever since I was a kid & having her debut album on Vinyl & became hooked ever since. Whenever I'm feeling low I listen to her music & it always cheers me up.

A true legendary artist until the end of time.

Don't say it's like a fantasy

2. On A Night Like This | 9.72 Highest Scores: 11: (Simon, vibe, Nick F1, Spiceboy, Tawdry Hepburn, Liam.k, HauseofHitchcock, Dannyboy), 10: : (Nina West, Red Blooded Man, Davidson, ___∆__, Lukuzz, elf, Qween), Lowest Scores: 7.5: (Feel The Fever)

After a very tight race with this & the winner (which will be revealed next), this was pipped to the post by a mere 1.5 , leaving it land in a very respectable runner up spot. On A Night Like This, released in September 2000 as the 2nd single from her 7th studio album Light Years. The track was originally written for Swedish singer Pandora by Steve Torch, Brian Rawling, Graham Stack, and Mark Taylor, while production was handled by the latter two. However after she recorded it for her album the previous year, the composers reportedly believed the result to not gain as much success as they had hoped & as a result they handed it to Kylie's label Parlophone & suggested it for Kylie to record. Upon its release the song received positive critical reviews & became a commercial success by topping the Australian charts & hit #2 in the UK & continued her momentum after the massive success of her comeback single 'SA' a few months previous. Elsewhere it also managed top 10 peaks in Iceland, Hungary & Romania, top 20 peaks in Ireland & Finland as well as top 40 peaks in Belgium, Sweden & New Zealand. The music video for the track plot was loosely based on the 1995 movie 'Casino' & featured Dutch actor Rutger Hauer as her husband. Also Kylie had sported an estimated $2 million worth of jewellery and diamonds during filming.

Kylie's epic comeback album "Light Years" spawned the 1 2 punch of 'Spinning Around' & this fantastic number that re-established her as not only a dance-pop queen, but a force to be reckoned with. This truly exhilarating number was a more harder edged dance/pop than the lead & I think we can all agree far better & don't care what anyone says the year 2000 was Kylie's year & no-one else's. Beginning with breathy, whispering & sensual vocals before building up to unleash her full power in the middle-eight & its glorious. This was a welcomed return to the sound that she gave us the decade prior, except this time, it was more refined, with a more polished production & far more confident as an artist. This was yet another important moment in her career that deserves to be mentioned alongside her most well-known hits. A firm classic with Kylie at the very top of her game here & even after 20 years this still sounds great.

As I'm the lowest scorer of the song I can take credit for it losing out the number 1 :P joking aside I do like the song but dont rate it as high as many others.

Not the best winner but still ok song. Glad to see On A Night Like This and In Your Eyes so high.

1. All The Lovers | 9.78

Highest Scores: 11:: (Slowdown73, Pippa, Feel the Fever, vibe, Stuart25, HausofHitchcock), 10: (Nina West, Red Blooded Man, ___∆__, Jade, Spiceboy, blacksquare, Lukuzz, Liam.k, Dannyboy, elf, Qween), Lowest Scores: 6.5: (Nick F1)

So there you have it our ALMIGHTY WINNER: the fabulously euphoric All The Lovers with a stellar average of 9.78 & coming out on top after a very close battle, this edged out in front by just 1.5 points, after finishing 3rd in the last couple of rates, it finally has its time to shine. A popular song throughout this rate & a more than worthy winner.

Released in June 2010 as the lead single from her 11th studio album Aphrodite. The song was written by Jim Eliot and Mima Stilwell and produced by the former; Stuart Price, provided additional production. The track was one of the last tracks recorded for the album & only came about during the last 3 weeks of recording. Originally "Too Much" was gonna be the album's lead single during the early stages, but was scrapped in favour of this, which I think we can all agree 'ATL' was the far better option. The song's music video caused some minor controversy as one country wanted the same-sex kissing removed, but Kylie refused as the message she wanted to say with this video was important. Upon its release the track was critically acclaimed & became her biggest commercial success worldwide in several years by hitting top 5 peaks in UK, Hungary, Slovakia, & Austria, along with top 10 peaks in Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium & Germany. However in her native Australia it underperformed when compared to her other lead singles by reaching a #13 peak due to lack of radio play, but still managed to earn a Gold disc there for sales of over 35,000 units.

A great way to kick off a new decade with this monumental & atmospheric anthem that still even to this day stands as one her finest recordings with its simple yet effective structure, shimmering
production & rousing chorus that's full of life & vitality. It’s euphoric, it’s uplifting, and it’s undeniably catchy; these are all areas where Kylie has historically excelled, & this is no exception. Showing that even in her 4th decade in music, Kylie still not only delivered the goods, yet still has so much more to give: a result of a true seasoned legend. Especially given at time when she was at a crossroads with her commercial viability & thankfully this gave her big hit in the 2010's (something even Madonna couldn't manage). On the whole this is just so breath-taking & stunning & not to mention this was the moment that Kylie fans became 'Lovers' - so its no surprise at how special & adored this has become, hell look it became the winner of this rate.

So that's it now guys & I would just love to thank everybody whose taken part in the rate, results, & made this an almighty resounding success....

Pretty perfect top 3. Would have preferred On a night like this but All the lovers is a worthy winner

Buzzjack is the only place where I've seen "OANLT being a better song than SA" as a widely held opinion :P That's news to me and all my years of fandom!

To my ears, SA has aged better than OANLT. I would've preferred Spinning Around to win, than either ATL or OANLT.

It's not a surprise that ATL won, but I've never been madly in love with it. I'm always gonna wish it had more in the vocal melody in the chorus. And I'm always gonna choose GOMW over it -_-

Thanks for putting this together, Nina West! :) It was a fun way to close out the year!

its always the same top 2 on this site but i do agree with them !!
