First listen over... it's definitely a nice listen but I agree it's not as immediate as Folklore was. There's nothing here that has hit me as hard as the highs of that but I'll give it a few more plays before making my mind up.

^hahah I thought that was the worst one,

hate it when songwriters tell silly made up stories instead of their own :o

Willow gets better with multiple listens

the collaborations maybe need more time but not impressed on 1st listen

I’ve listened to every song three times and this is my initial order (I think - I’ve found it really hard to order them at this point). I’m sure many of these songs will start to grow on me even more after a few more listens and the order will change:

Willow

Long story short

Champagne problems

Marjorie

Dorothea

Happiness

Cowboy like me

Tolerate it

Tis the damn season

Gold rush

Ivy

Coney Island

No body, no crime

Evermore

Closure

It hasn’t hit me as instantly as folklore has but I excited to listen to it more which is a good sign.

okay I'm already becoming obsessed on this listen ahaha :cheeseblock:

Champagne Problems is just so utterly stunning, think it might be my favourite on the album.

no body, no crime is FAB!! <3 legit if there was a bit more HAIM I think this would be my fave haha

Gold Rush is really hitting me now, I love the chorus

tis the damn season & tolerate it are both gorgeous, feel like they haven't fully hit me yet aha

happiness is gorgeous, the Gatsby references <3

Dorothea is great too

ivy is really strong too, it reminds me a lot of invisible string

cowboy like me is so good

long story short is such a bop and really stands out!

closure idk about ahaha

people have found hints in the artwork that alludes to a third album, would make sense for a trilogy. I enjoy this sound and acclaim for her but I do miss her pop music.

I tried to listen to this earlier but work was too distracting, I was about halfway through so I don't wanna make a judgment too soon, but I enjoyed this a lot more than Folklore.

Goldrush was a nice change, not obviously a pop song but it was nice to hear a higher tempo. Looking forward to just dissolving in bed and listening to this fully later on.

I think I'm somewhere around this atm idk?

champagne problems is def my #1 and a 10/10, closure is definitely last. NBNC is 10/10 for me too and then everything else is still SO close together aha. I'd say there all at least 9/10 and I can see some of them from #3-#10 moving up to 10/10's after a couple more listens haha

I'm loving this but I don't think it's completely hit my ridiculously high expectations after folklore aha

obvs early as ever this is my album ranking (yep ik its early but I kinda knew folklore was gonna be my favourite Taylor album ever by second listen)

1. folklore

2. rep

3. speak now

4. 1989

5. red

(6. evermore)

7. lover

8. fearless

9. Taylor swift

I def think this can overtake red & possibly 1989 eventually! the top 3 trinity is going to remain untouchable this time round though I think

yeah I lowkey wouldn't be shocked if we end up getting a third part to complete the trilogy, esp after the trilogies within these albums (Betty/cardigan/august etc haha)

at the same time though I think it might just remain a double project (with folklore = spring/summer, evermore = august/winter) & we get re-recordings 2021 + a new album 2022

First listen rank, ish:

Willow

No Body, No Crime

Gold Rush

Long Story Short

Champagne Problems

Marjorie

'Tis The Damn Season

Ivy

Coney Island

Dorothea

Evermore

Tolerate It

Closure

Happiness

Cowboy Like Me

Folklore is untouchable but this is very very good, cohesive with enough of the same idea as Folklore but I think it stands as its own body of work instead of just feeling like songs leftover from Folklore. The bottom 2 songs aren't doing anything for me and feel unncessary but the rest are all good at least, Willow down to 'Tis The Damn Season are brilliant and I think there's gonna be a lot of movement in my rankings as I listen more as there's a few groups of songs that are on a similar level for me. Very impressed by the lyricism as usual  The way she wrote two albums as good as this and Folklore while re-recording her old stuff, legends only x

Obsessed with No Body, No Crime essentially being 2020's spin on Goodbye Earl, we stan
It’s interesting to see how widely varied people’s order of favourites are for this album. There doesn’t seem to be a general consensus yet.

yeah I feel like I'm trying to grasp the general faves atm! (I'd say maybe willow & no body, no crime?), I feel with folklore it was pretty instant what the major universal faves were aha!

I feel this time it def seems to be closure is the least fave from the reactions I've seen :kink:
