Aww I'm absolutely loving this  the response has been very positive on the Popheads & Chvrches subreddits - but (unsurprisingly) very mixed on Indieheads haha

Only read super negative comments everywhere

and rightfully song, the way they mixed her vocals is not good

she has an amazing voice that doesn't need to be messed up with tints-inducing effects

I wasn't so sure at first, but I think I'm quite into it now! I don't know if her voice works with autotune (maybe cos I just really love it without!), but I really like the intense, rave inspired production, good to see them continually progressing with their sound.

CHVRCHES going hyperpop?

Wasn't expecting that but it really works, I like this song.

but I really like the intense, rave inspired production

Yes it kind of reminds me of Tidal Wave and Endorphins by Sub Focus

look guys

THIS is the artistic direction and innovation that was missing on their last album, maybe I can start rooting for them again! Very exciting sort of sound right now, that was a stunning first listen.

#2 on New Music Friday! :o (I assume it'll get pushed down in the morning by The Weeknd x Ariana but that's still a lot higher than I expected!

I can see why 'He Said She Said' has been a bit divisive but I'm absolutely loving it - instantly far better than any of the stuff I heard off their last album. The singles off 'Love Is Dead' were really just starting to feel a little too by the numbers (they weren't bad, just not as exciting as CHVRCHES have typically been), I like that they're trying something new with this even if it's not gone down too well with everyone. Between this, 'Out Of My Head' and 'Death Stranding' I think CHVRCHES are actually on a run of quality songs that rivals their debut album right now! (I also really liked 'Here With Me' as generic as it was, but technically that was Marshmello's song anyway so it can be left out of this narrative regardless :kink:)

ohh if their next release has Robert Smith of The Cure, then I'm on board again

but hope they don't ruin it in the mixing

Another absolute stormer, it sounds so huge! Although the Cure and CHVRCHES was always gonna be great x I might actually check this album out this time, the material is so much stronger than last era.
