Levitating is the 3rd highest Dua song with Physical and Break My Heart still to come. The song had a bit of a journey on my chart, not managing to reach its peak until its 8th week at number 8. The song spent 3 weeks in total in my top 10 and is still actually charting. Not as bit a fan of the DaBaby version… but the song is a bop nonetheless.
February 1, 20214 yr Author 60 = Camelphat x Yannis & Foals // Hypercolour = 284pts Chart Run (03-05-06-08-10-16-19-25-23-27-31-37-39) Peak = 03 Weeks on Chart = 13 Weeks hBaYYHAU_tg Kicking off the top 60 is the first of 3 CamelPhat songs remaining; Hypercolour. One of thigs I like about CamelPhat is their use of vocalists; Jake Bugg on Be Someone was fantastic, Noel Gallagher on Not Over Yet is great and here we have Yannis from Foals. I love Foals and have seen them live about 6 times, the mesh in sounds between them and CamelPhat actually works incredibly well here. The song managed a top 3 peak and spent 13 weeks on my chart – it didn’t reach the heights that Be Someone did, however this is still a great song.
February 1, 20214 yr Author 59 = The Weeknd // In Your Eyes = 287pts Chart Run (24-28-30-22-16-14-14-11-16-16-18-23-27-32-37) Peak = 11 Weeks on Chart = 15 Weeks dqRZDebPIGs At 59 is the 3rd Highest song by The Weeknd with In Your Eyes, like I said when I posted Midnight Sky this is a song which really should be higher. In Your Eyes only managed a peak of 11 on my chart, however spend 7 weeks in my top 20 and 15 weeks overall on my chart. It’s a song which I play massively now, so not to get a top 10 peak and only be 59 here doesn’t feel right. I think possibly when this was getting big, I was still hammering Blinding Lights which probably didn’t help things. With this song out, it means the Weeknd has Blinding Lights and Save Your Tears left to chart.
February 1, 20214 yr Author 58 = Little Mix // Sweet Melody = 291pts Chart Run (05-06-09-10-10-13-15-18-21-12-X) Peak = 05 Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks (Still Charting) r4P-WOOUPk4 58 sees the highest song by Little Mix with Sweet Melody; the song managed to peak at 5 and spent 5 weeks in my top 10. Sweet Melody is great and I guess had it been released earlier in the year would’ve safely been in my EOY top 50. As it is it had 10 weeks to rack up points and had leapt back up my chart in the final week of 2020. I think this is the best Little Mix they’ve released for several years and I guess as an end song for Jesy its good to see it have such big success. It will be interesting to see what happens next with the girls and how they’ll fair as a 3 piece.

Nothing Really Matters was released not long before Tiesto released his album and followed on from some big hits from him with God is a Dancer, Rituals and Jackie Chan. Becky Hill had recently had success with Better Off Without You, so when I saw who was involved in this I thought it would be another hit for Becky – oddly though it lacked any form of support anywhere and didn’t even go top 40. Possibly not the most inventive of songs, but still catchy and managed a top 3 peak and spent 13 weeks in total on my chart.

February 1, 20214 yr Nice to see Paradise and Looking For Me make it in, two of the best dance songs to make the official chart last year and both made my weekly Top 40 chart as well. Love In Your Eyes as well, my favourite of The Weeknd singles from this era although Save Your Tears is sounding pretty nice as well!
February 2, 20214 yr Author 56 = Example // Sun Hits Your Eyes = 296pts Chart Run (17-10-09-10-13-13-17-21-23-24-24-28-34-39-38-40) Peak = 09 Weeks on Chart = 16 Weeks baz6UHWygv0 At 56 is the second and highest song by Example on my EOY Chart, the song peaked at 9, however spent in total 16 weeks on my chart. I’ve long since been a fan of Example… well his more dancier tracks anyway. This feels very much retro Example rather than a lot of the stuff he’s released I the last few years. A good chorus and a catchy hook as well.
February 2, 20214 yr Author 55 = Gorgon City x DRAMA // Nobody = 297pts Chart Run (12-09-08-09-14-17-20-15-19-24-29-31-34-37-40) Peak = 08 Weeks on Chart = 15 Weeks wpR-OKoAtmQ The dance continues at 55 with the highest entrant from Gorgon City who scored a big hit with Baggage last year. Nobody entered at 12 in my chart and went on to peak at 8, spending 15 weeks in total on my chart. This is a catchy bop which features DRAMA and whilst it doesn’t have a massive drop, It does have some good moments and a haunting vocal at times.
February 2, 20214 yr Author 54 = Becky Hill // Space = 305pts Chart Run (01-03-03-09-12-15-17-22-26-28-30-31-31-X) Peak = 01 (1 Week @ Number 1) Weeks on Chart = 13 Weeks (Still Charting) pHHGdz_okBs 54 sees another appearance by Becky Hill with her solo single Space. The actually went to Number 1 in its first week, however fell quite quickly out of the top 20 before stabilising. The song I think was meant to launch Becky away from just being a dance feature’s artist, although her 2 top 20 appearances in 2020 were as a lead artist with a DJ feature. I do like Space, but after the initial hype it dropped… I don’t think it’s bad but I don’t think there is a strong enough hook in this. Space is the third highest song by Becky with both Heaven on my Mind and Better Off Without You still to chart. Considering Space got to number 1 on my chart though, this is quite a low EOY placement given it had 13 weeks to rack up points. Edited February 2, 20214 yr by ElectroBoy
February 3, 20214 yr Levitating and Sweet Melody  Chemicals is an interesting one, I didn't really like it much on first play but it really grew on me within the album. I think I'd still "only" put it midtable on Cherry Blossom though?

The song peaked at 4 on my chart, spending 5 weeks in my top 10 and went on to spend 13 weeks in total on my chart.

Steps come in at 52 with What the Future Holds, a song which I wasn’t 100% sold on when it was first released, however the chorus and song wore me down and I now thinks it a bop (although its no Scared of the Dark). The song peaked at 4 and went on to spend 12 weeks on my chart, 9 of which were in my top 20.

This is the second highest song to feature Karen Harding and the third highest Eli Brown track. Immortal spent a massive 14 weeks on my chart and peaked at 7 for 2 weeks, spending 9 weeks in my top 20. I really like the majority of Eli’s output (although his recent EP was questionable), hopefully he releases more bangers in 2021.

I’ll be honest I’m not the biggest fan of rap music in general, however the garage influences on the track and the addition of Mabel works really well – been listening to this more and more recently and feel it possibly should be a bit higher. However the chorus became a bit infectious and in the end entered and climbed up and eventually peak at 8, spending 15 weeks in total on my chart.
