Chris, the FBI did not plant evidence, Trump & his cronies were filmed carrying out boxes of confidential material. We all just assumed it was hiding the evidence of his attempt to overthrow democracy, rather than saving stuff to hand over to enemies of democracy. Looks like we gave him too much credit. BTW Trump increased the punishment for removing material 5 years in prison. I love that fact. He's arguing as President he had the power to classify anything he wants and help himself to it. If the Secret Service (a government institution) had refused to turn off CCTV to another government institution who are supposed to have asked them by hearsay to turn it off then presumably they have footage showing FBI going in and out and Trump would be spreading it all over For Fox News by now. Instead, he's changing his stories hourly. And as usual admitting to stuff he's done by justifying he has the right to do it (he doesn't).

 

I wonder how the sexual assault suits are going...? The Tax dodging suit? The proof to back up his claim that the elections were fixed so he had a right to try to overturn democracy? We have proof he leaned on officials to not count votes. And that he brought in legislation to prevent (poor and black) voters to vote. But, I realise facts are not your most fave thing when you can read much more juicy made-up stuff that can't be proved.

 

But if your source is right we can expect video footage proving the FBI framed someone - not that I'm aware they have ever been caught framing anyone. And the head of the FBI was appointed by Trump because the previous one didn't do as he was told by Trump (ie refusing to break the law or lie).

I really like this speech. That's a real tonal shift from Biden (the online part of me believes his staffers have seen the popularity of the 'Dark Brandon' meme and are rolling with it, c.f. the dark red ominous background), calling out the fascists for what they are - causing them to go apeshit. And it fits with the recent good moves his administration has been making with student loan forgiveness.

The hope though is that if trump loses to DeFascist that he runs as an independent or some form of third party which will split the maga vote out from the republicans and should allow the Dems to walk it. DeSantis is much more chilling a prospect than Trump, he’s a getting some (truly awful) stuff done and isn’t just using it as rhetoric. Trump being the candidate seems like the best chance Democrats have of winning in 2024 (assuming Biden runs again) and perhaps with strong coattails could hold the Senate.
