Last year quite a few established chart stars got their first #1 single. Regardless, in classic Buzzjack Pointless style, promising newcomer Captain Tom Moore is one of the top scorers here, while Billie Eilish was among the Pointless answers. I actually thought we’d be inundated with picks for the featured artists on Lemonade, but only four came in split, between two of them. I allowed Live Lounge Allstars as a whole, although I would have disqualified any of the participant artists (Dave Grohl, yungblud, etc.) in their own right, and also would have disqualified combination answers like "Joel Corry feat. MNEK" but even Joel got left out here despite (or perhaps because of) one of the biggest #1s of the year. In the end, this turned out to be the only question with no incorrect answers!

Oh yes Billie :cheeseblock: I thought that might straddle the line of an obvious answer but also one people could forget as it feels like it should've happened longer ago

Another answer with a defined list of correct answers, although I didn’t look for one before starting this quiz. Eminem reached the tally of eight #1 albums with 2017’s Revival and has since had two more, so a prominent choice for top scorer. Eight of you came up Pointless here including with the most recent addition to the club, Kylie. We also have our first incorrect answer as, unfortunately for RFC, Stereophonics only have seven #1 albums and missed out with 2017’s Scream Above The Sounds by a tiny margin for what would have given them an eighth!

The disadvantages of not checking answers! I thought 8 would be nailed as I remember their last one made it which was at least their 10th + a massive selling GH

Jay-Z [90s, 00s] | Mack.

A trickier one to define, I nearly didn’t put this question in or reduced it to two decades, but stuck with it, and your answers included a few acts I hadn’t realised had done this. I think Cliff is in double figures for #2 peaks across the decades, whereas Take That have only the same three songs which qualify them here – they were the top scorers, closely followed by one of the latter’s sometime members as a solo artist. Elvis qualifies unambiguously thanks to 1969 Suspicious Minds reaching #2 in 1970, regardless of several of the re-releases of his former #1s reappearing there in 2005, although I would have counted those. By a looser interpretation, would have also counted Mariah Carey thanks to AIWFCIY peaking at #2 within the decades either side of 2005’s We Belong Together, but nobody went there. Unfortunately for Mack, Jay-Z missed out on a third decade with his Empire State Of Mind coming a few months too early for the 2010s!

got a Pointless with Elvis in albums yay!
Robbie not as good an answer as I hoped for (with 'Shame' literally scraping a 2010s option) but at least Take That would've been slightly worse

The 1975 | Maestro

This one takes us a bit further outside the box – I’ve no idea how many correct answers there could be, maybe hundreds. That notwithstanding, this question brought the highest scoring answer in the quiz courtesy of a 1994 one-hit wonder. I was rather generous in allowing titles which weren’t exactly the same but had the artist name in common, so we ended up with half the answers being pointless, ranging from the 1993 Christmas #1 to Cardi B via a slew of turn-of-the-millennium dance hits. I’m afraid Maestro takes maximum points as, unless I’m mistaken, none of The 1975’s self-titled songs made the chart or were Top 40 hits by any other name.

Yessss I was really hoping that would be a Pointless answer  I have the first ever U.K. Now! That's What I Call Music album to thank.

Talk Talk by Talk Talk made the final of BJSC a couple of years ago so some of the younger ones might know it now.

In that case I'm surprised I got away with a Pointless answer

Can confirm this is how I know of it :P (I nearly put that as well but decided to go for something a little less obvious to take advantage of 'it can just contain the artist name').
