'Fireflies' is incredible  my biggest loss so far but at least my +30 is still in the race. 'Sweet But Psycho' and 'La La La' are great too <3

Shocked that I didn't give Harry any points :o I do really like that but must've not had the room in the end.

No 1 for 2 weeks in June 2011- We start the top 30 with Mango’s 30 pointer and the highest placed Example track which was also in 5 other voter’s top 10.

Changed The Way You Kissed Me! Along with Bounce by Calvin/Kelis, this is probably the song that most reminds me of Summer 2011!

I don’t love her voice or anything else I’ve heard by her, but I do love Dance Monkey.

(And I wanted to see how fuming Bré would be at it doing well. :basil: )

Dance Monkey didn't quite make my votes, but I do like it. I'm still baffled that it's become quite so huge, and I expect some producers would have made her redo it, saying "this time sing it properly Tones"

Wake Me Up took me a year or so to really like (still do of course). That's a bit better for Calvin/Dua and impressive for Example, I would not have expected him so high!

I can just imagine him sat there shaking his head and sighing

'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' glad my 30 pointer made the top 30!

Oh thank Christ 'Dance Monkey' is gone now xx I was starting to worry it had enough big fans to be a fair bit higher than that :')

I know my dislike of the song is now a meme here (see the other posts so far since it was unveiled :basil:) but in all seriousness I have never been more baffled by a song becoming so widely popular, it is physically cringeworthy to listen to, not exaggerating when I say there's a very good chance it is my least favourite song to chart anywhere in the last decade let alone at #1 and let alone let alone for 11 goddamn weeks.

I think 'Sweet But Psycho' would have been not far off making my votes (does seem like I've said that about tons of songs already though ), not usually a huge fan of pure pop music but that is one of the best songs of its style. 'Wake Me Up' and 'One Kiss' are both examples of songs that aged very quickly for me - moreso the former which I only really liked for about 3 weeks before getting bored of it, the latter I was into for a good few months - but not bad. I'm in the nearly nonexistent minority who still thinks 'Stay Awake' was the better of Example's 2 #1s but both of them were great so happy to see this one doing well at least!

Lots of songs that I think are just fine revealed over the last few days, wouldn't turn them off but nothing I ever go back to. I don't think the Example singles from that album have aged anywhere near as well as his previous ones, but Change The Way... definitely sounds a lot better still than Stay Awake.

Changed The Way You Kiss Me hasn't dated the best, but I loved it at the time so I had to throw it a few points. Fireflies is another one similar, but that didn't quite make my votes. Wake Me Up quite a bit lower than I expected here :o I got really sick of that at the time, but after the overplay had died down, it sounded much better, hit very different after his death :'(

Dance Monkey still the chart saviour of 2019 :cheeseblock:

Sweet But Psycho is easily the best song Ava has made so far imo, and Wake Me Up is great although I did get a bit bored of it from overplay at one point, good to see both fairly high up.

I'm another one in that very small category, as reflected in this rate with me giving Stay Awake 24 points (more than two thirds of its total here!) and zero for CTWYKM :magic: although the latter is still a pretty good song, very surprised that it did so well!

See that's exactly how I feel about 'Lemonade' and 'WAP' and I just can't fathom how they made #1. At least 'Dance Monkey' is catchy and has a melody. But hey I guess the world would be a boring place if everyone liked the same songs.

This system where you only score your top favourites definitely rewards Marmite songs like Dance Monkey over nice but forgettable ones.
ah that's still a good result for Wake Me Up but I was hoping it'd be top 20 seeing as ICBTO managed top 50. great to see One Kiss and CTWYKM high up too, and Dance Monkey even if I couldn't find space for it in my votes.

'Dance Monkey' :puke2: I agree with Bray that the vocals are just awful. I'd be a lot more receptive to it if the singer was more pleasant to listen to.

'One Kiss' the best of those revealed since I last commented ~ really takes me back to that summer!

The fact that you just named 2 different songs means it is by definition not exactly the same as the way I feel, unless they are your 2 least favourite songs to chart in the last decade... :kink: but I digress xx

Nobody likes a pedant x

Pity Wake Me Up and One Kiss just missed out on top 30. :(

A bit surprised Changed The Way You Kiss Me is higher than both but it's Example's masterpiece. So, I'm not complaining.
