That was one of the reasons I wanted to reduce the final down to 50 songs so that there would not be any songs that some people might not know.

I think I only gave a couple points to Blue Monday cos I was only considering the 88 Mix

the original and the 88 Mix were never combined afaik, they were different releases per the occ

I'm pretty certain their sales are combined as far as the all-time best sellers list is concerned (seeing as it's one of the relatively few songs that sold over a million pure sales without having a #1 peak).

Britney's second single and the biggest seller by her not to reach number 1. Sometimes was given a wild card after No Sleeep gave it 30 points in the first round but he didn't vote this time. It still receives support here from other voters.

From 2006, this was All Saints' comeback single. I'm surprised to see that none of the seven singles they have released since then have managed to reach the top 100.

George Michael's fourth single and the first not to reach number 1. The lyrical content led to it only being played on Radio 1 after the watershed.

45. Annie Lennox - Little Bird/Love Song For A Vampire 157 pts

Writer - Annie Lennox (both)

I don't know which side you were voting for here. I based my vote on Love Song For A Vampire but I remember Little Bird well so this is one of those double A side singles that had both sides being played regularly on the radio. Love Song For A Vampire was written for the film 'Bram Stoker's Dracula'.

'AM To PM' was one of the songs that was originally getting a couple of points from me before I decided to just cut it to a top 20. Surprised it's done so poorly here though.

Not my wildcard being the first song out :(

Sad to see Erasure's 'Chorus' bow out so early too.

That Annie Lennox AA single was great, Little Bird is her best pop moment whilst Love Song was beautiful

I think 'Walking On Broken Glass' has something to say about that.

A one hit wonder by the French duo with vocals by Lucie Decarne and a saxophone sample from Snake Davis who has worked with a string of well known names over the last 40 years.

I think 'Walking On Broken Glass' has something to say about that.

I do love that too but I prefer Little Bird, it's a bit of a Sweet Dreams update for the 90s but it just works so well

The first of four top 20 hits for the Italian/French trio named after the initials of their first names.

Sad to see BBE go. Didn't make much of an impression on me when it first came out when I was a kid. But has grown on me a lot in the intervening years.

41. Beverley Craven - Promise Me 167 pts

Writer - Beverley Craven

Top points - Bjork 25, JulianT 25, Campbell 20

There was a gap of 10 months between this single's release and its chart peak in May 1991. Beverley had five more top 75 singles but none of them reached the top 30.
