At #56 we have OVERPROTECTED (DARKCHILD REMIX). This remix was launched with it's very own video (which is incredible, so if you haven't seen it, I'd HIGHLY recommend it!) As for the song... I don't really care for it. It drains everything I LOVE about the original out of it. It's just one monotonous beat over the song. Doesn't have much going for it at all, imo. PERFECT LOVER is the next to leave the countdown. Such a slick and smooth track! Her delivery of everything in this song is ASMR HEAVY! LMAO. It's a great song I think this is about right for it's placing tbh! The production though is killer! Up next is one of my absolute favourites from her 'Circus' album, OUT FROM UNDER. As I have said numerous times before, I really think Britney ballads are really quite special! I take to them almost INSTANTLY and this being her first proper ballad since 'Someday (I Will Understand)'... GOOSEBUMPS. Really would've been a gorgeous 3rd single after 'Circus' imo. She sounds great on this and I think this might be her most underrated ballad ever. Maybe after 'Perfume' actually.

Onto #59 and we have the 'Britney' track I RUN AWAY. I get a real, European, dreamy, airy vibe from this. The strings in the middle 8 are absolutely GORGEOUS! But the song is very one note and apart from that it's doesn't really get elevated much. I feel like this was the blueprint for the superior 'And Then We Kiss'. I like this a lot, but I just think it could have been a bit more and had a tad more oomf to it. Lastly we have LIAR. A bonus track on the deluxe version of her most recent album 'Glory'. Instantly became a favourite of mine. It has everything I want in a Britney song. A chorus. A hook. A melody. Great verses. Kick ass lyrics. A catchy middle 8... FLAWLESS. Just incredibly anthemic and one of my favourite MIDDLE FINGER IN THE AIR anthems. A SONG! Deserves higher, but IT IS WHAT IT IS I GUESSSSSS!!!

Just missing on a place in the top 50 we have a song taken from Britney's self-titled 3rd album, LET ME BE. This has always seemed fairly popular for this album and it's easy to see why. Catchy and melodic... my *only* criticism is that it feels quite one note. Once you've heard the first verse, bridge and chorus, you've kinda heard the whole song. I wish the middle-8 went a bit harder. At #52 is the 'In The Zone' track SHOWDOWN. This song is ridiculously catchy. I love how it progresses through the song and I love the guitar! One of the most interesting and unique tracks from the album, imo - especially from a production standpoint. Very happy to see it fairly high in this countdown. Up next is the single that was featured in every single era since 'Blackout' (OK it wasn't QUITE but lol at that becoming a meme)... RADAR was set to be a single (when it should have been) during the BO era, but the label decided it was best for Britney to finish the era and record new music instead. Due to contractual obligations (I think Brit's team signed a contract that said 'Radar' was going to be a single or something) 'Radar' was included as a "bonus track" on 'Circus', but was then made as the 4th single. Frustrating tbh. It should have been the 4th and final single from 'Blackout', but it's overuse has made people turn sour on it. It's good, but I definitely only like it MORE in the context of BO.

The album version of BOYS is up next at #54. Taken from her 3rd studio album, this song was tapped to be one of the official songs of the 'Austin Powers: Goldmember' soundtrack. For a LONG time this was always my least favourite Britney song. I just find it repetitive and boring! The Co-Ed Remix (still to come) is stronger. I've come to appreciate it more over time, but I'm still not into it. Finishing off the 51-55 section is a track from her debut album that sounded like it was tailor made to be a single. I WILL BE THERE is probably the most bubblegum pop song on her album, which says a lot for the time aha, but WHAT A CHORUS. So anthemic, catchy and it just immediately puts me in a good mood and I can't stop singing along and smiling to it! POP PERFECTION.

I think people (rightfully) scored the Co-Ed remix (which was the single mix I think?) higher as that is still to come!

Oh actually yes the 'Co-Ed' remix is superior so I'm glad that's still on the way

BEFORE THE GOODBYE
[Avg. 8.03]

Highest Score: Juan Carlos & Euphorique (11)

'Britney' bonus track BEFORE THE GOODBYE kick starts the top 50. This European sounding single sounds like a HUGE smash to me. Maybe one of those that would have been a MASSIVE European hit as they focused on another song for the US market or something? Deserved to be a single, imo. Always been a big favourite of mine from one of her most underrated albums. I love the gradual build in each chorus to that banging Eurodance finale! A SMASH.

DON'T GO KNOCKIN' ON MY DOOR
[Avg. 8.07]

Highest Score: Nina West (10)

Up next at #49 is DON'T GO KNOCKIN' ON MY DOOR, an album track taken from her record breaking 2nd album. This is still very much the Britney pop we were all so used to at this point, but it had the late 90's/early 00's R&B spark to it. Something you could quite easily hear TLC or someone else do at the time, for example. I long for this sound SO MUCH. Makes me feel really nostalgic. Always been a fave of mine, but it "only" ranks about half way on the album for me... that's just a teastament to how strong the album is though!

FREAKSHOW
[Avg. 8.09]

Highest Score: Nina West& jAddy! (10)

The last song for this section is FREAKSHOW which is taken from Britney's most critically acclaimed album 'Blackout'. I enjoy this when I hear it, but I also find it ever so slightly annoying. A bop though. That wobbling bassline is KILLER! Would have been interesting to see how this would have performed had it been a single, but yeah. Not a fave of mine, but a solid bop! A lot of better tracks on the album have (quite rightly) placed higher!

These next 3 tracks are all tied! Separated by amounts of 11's.

BOYS (FEAT. PHARRELL WILLIAMS)
[Avg. 8.166 - 0 x 11]

Highest Score: NickF1 & jAddy! (10)

The single remix version of 'Britney' track BOYS is up next. Featuring superstar producer and member of N.E.R.D, Pharrell Williams, this version seems to give the kick that the song needs from the album version. This one just seems a lot more slick and doesn't feel as boring, imo. This is the version I usually go to when listening, but it's rare I listen to this song on my own time anyway. But I've definitely become more fond of this song over time.

I WANNA GO
[Avg. 8.166 - 1 x 11]

Highest Score: Jade (11)

At #46 we have the 3rd single taken from her 'Femme Fatale' album and her biggest US radio hit to date, I WANNA GO. This is very "of the time" but it's insanely catchy. It's easy to see why it's a single and why it was such a huge hit for her in the US. The video is so much fun and suits the song down to a tee! It's the perfect slice of carefree and joyous pop you need every once in a while tbh. I think I underrate this a lot. It's an instant mood lifter. Also, if you have not seen the I C O N I C performance of this at the Cocal Cola concert in Peru... PLEASE press play and watch. It's legendary at this point.

HOW I ROLL
[Avg. 8.166 - 2 x 11]

Highest Score: Tafty & blacksquare (11)

Finally and winning the tie by receiving 2 11's, we have another track taken from 'Femme Fatale' and this time it's should have been the 4th single, HOW I ROLL. This song has ALWAYS been an instant highlight for me. I just find it so dark and smooth and the verses are all really slick. Just so fun and dark. A mix that shouldn't work but it really does. So catchy! It's addictive. I love the bubble-pop sounds through the song. Love it. I think it would have worked as a single! The performance of this on the 'Femme Fatale' tour is so much fun.
Decided to spread out my 11s decently among eras and thought 'I Wanna Go' deserved one! It was a #1 in my chart and has held up pretty well *.*
Loved reading through all this. Shame I never voted but hey ho. I’ve gotta say radar and I wanna go are two of my favourite Britney songs and for sure would have got 11s from me. I wanna go is such a bop - played it to death. Damn I miss new Britney music. I know we recently had a couple of bonus tracks from glory but it’s not the same.

I definitely wouldn't have expected to see How I Roll higher than I Wanna Go :o Definitely a highlight album track. I Wanna Go is great fun and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to understand how it only made it to #111 in the UK. Boys is one of my least favourite singles... I liked it more at the time but as her discography has grown larger, I definitely consider it to be one of her least essential singles.

Don't Go Knockin' on My Door is a major Oops highlight  I love the production on Freakshow too. Blackout was so forward thinking!

PHONOGRAPHY
[Avg. 8.18]

Highest Score: NickF1 & Euphorique (11)

Up next we have a bonus track from her 6th studio album, 'Circus'. PHONOGRAPHY is one of those songs that, when it hits you, it hits you. The pulsating beat and the lush and sensual production really transforms this song into some other-worldly, hypnotic, sexy jam! One of the bonus tracks from this album that people wouldn't have mind seeing it become a single and a lot believe it should have made the standard album. The pre-chorus is lush! I love this so much and I very nearly gave it an 11. Great track!

LONELY
[Avg. 8.26]

Highest Score: NickF1, Tafty & Nina West (10)

LONELY is taken from her self titled 3rd album 'Britney'. Tipped by many as a "should have been a single" at the time. With it's punchy chrous, melodic middle 8 and slick verses 'Lonely' would have been a surefire smash, especially for radio at the time. I group this with 'Let Me Be' & 'Cinderella' as the songs that really show the sound of that era the best, imo. Great song and was always a highlight from the start, to me.

SHADOW
[Avg. 8.28]

Highest Score: NickF1, Tafty & Euphorique (10)

Rounding off this section (and completing the "should have been singles" trifecta) is the 'In The Zone' power ballad SHADOW. This absolutely storming, empowering power ballad always has and always will be one of the top 3 highlights from the ITZ album for me. As we may be aware, I love a good Balladney and this, 'Everytime' & 'Where Are You Now?' are the holy trinity, imo. Soaring chorus, gorgeous lyrics and fantastic vocals. It sends shivers down my spine every time. Just incredible and it really could and would have worked as a single I think (but then so could a lot of ITZ). I'm so confused why I didn't give it one of my 11's?!

JUST LUV ME
[Avg. 8.29]

Highest Score: NickF1 & Tafty (10)

JUST LUV ME is up next and is a track taken from Britney's most recent album, 'Glory'. Upon early reactions and reviews, many pinned this as a big highlight. The most naturally vulnerable Britney has sound on record in a long time. The production felt the most contemporary she had done in a while and I am pretty sure this would have been a big hit for her with a smoother run campaign. So lush and majestic! An absolute BEAUTY of a song and is top 15 of her discography for me. GORGEOUS.

SHATTERED GLASS
[Avg. 8.343]

Highest Score: NickF1, Tafty & jAddy! (10)

Into the top 40 we go and we start with the next song to drop from the 'Circus' album. This time it's the brilliant SHATTERED GLASS. Another song that I pegged as a single, but only if they made a radio edit and added on a middle-8/final chorus! The song is SO short but it slaps SO HARD. The bridge/chorus is glorious. I really, really wish there was more to the song as it's near perfect for me, otherwise. For me, it's the song 'Kill The Lights' tries to be!

CAN'T MAKE YOU LOVE ME
[Avg. 8.346]

Highest Score: NickF1, Nina West & Euphorique (10)

Last up in this section is an 'Oops...! I Did It Again' album track and it's the fierce CAN'T MAKE YOU LOVE ME. This really embraces and captures that late 90's/early 00's pop sound perfectly. Max at his finest! It packs that punch that really makes those upbeat pop numbers. One of many, MANY songs that should've been a single over 'Don't Let Me Be the Last To Know' and I guarantee radio would have eaten this UP! Can you imagine how FIRE the video would've been back then? A great song and I'm very pleased it made the top 40 here!
Love Jus Love me. That and Man on the moon were my favs from Glory. Shattered glass is also great. I’d forgotten how many tracks I loved from Circus. My favourite non-single track was unusual you. Nor sure if that’s gone out yet. Played it to death.
