This was SO close to repeaking... just 140-something streams away from getting #7 on UK Spotify!

 I know (honestly I did!) I just didn't word it correctly :heehee:

I have a feeling we’ll have some massive numbers over the weekend.

This week it could be the start of ACR but I’m sure it’ll increase in streams again this week anyway.

Gosh that’s gone quick..

Yes I have a feeling it’ll increase more over the next couple of weeks..

God that seems.. bleak. Did Sweet Melody not even push that much?

No Sweet Melody got to number 1 with about 25k I think

Edit that 25 was just streaming points my mistake

14/01 | 031,186 | Little Mix - Sweet Melody (25,267) LOWEST

31k was total sales. Lowest selling #1 of the year so far

Little Mix seem to be consistent sellers rather than do big weekly numbers.

Is it just me or does it seem harder than ever to get a hit? I can think of so many artists and songs that should be hits but fall flat (Mabel, RAYE, Becky Hill (most solo stuff), James Arthur, Tate McRae (Shes had better songs than YBMF and there’s zero interest) there’s so many more but that’s just off the top of my head.

It seems there’s massive hits, Songs that peak in the first couple of weeks and do absolutely nothing after and then a whole host of minor 20/40 hits that should be so much bigger.

Then albums we get a high first week and most of not all albums then fall like a brick out of the chart over 2/3 weeks.

Little Mix really have managed to solidify themselves with a large fanbase that helps with first week playlist support! It really is incredible how they manage to just ‘bounce back’ quite literally while other artists pull the emergency ‘Dance Collab’ cord (Rita Ora) and still even with the collabs they’ve done they haven’t been desperately needed to get chart success.

100%

A top 40 is an achievement these days.

They’ve done so well to keep up the momentum and still get hits. Some of the biggest names in music who were smashing it 5ish years ago can barely get a hit now. Just look at artists like Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding, Zara Larsson etc, all who had multiple massive hits but now going top 100 is an achievement.

The girls must be behind just Ed Sheeran and Calvin Harris in terms of longest lasting UK acts to be getting top 10 hits.

Yeah, I really can't see another girl group ever achieving what Little Mix have done. They're probably the most successful girl group in British history in terms of the complete package of longevity, discography, album sales, singles sales and tours. Once they split up I really, really (sadly) can't see another girl group capturing the attention of the British public for anything more than one album. It's too difficult in the streaming era to launch pop groups and they're becoming increasingly outdated and 'cheesy', especially girl groups.

Fifth Harmony and Little Mix were lucky they were launched on X-Factor and at a time when reality TV shows were still relevant. I hope LM continue for as long as possible because I feel like they might be the last group we'll have for a long time.

#50 WW (2 new entries above)

1,593,357 streams WW yesterday, pretty much 100k up WOW

staying in the top 50 after the initial NMF is a v good sign considering its streams increased, hopefully can climb over the coming days.

#6 on spotify is SO good, they still won't get #1 but hopefully a new #3 peak is not out of the question

Galantis and their team must be confident it's not peaked yet because still no remixes or acoustic.
I know it's too early to call, but at this rate, they deserve best British group again at next year's Brits! Unless they stick to their "requirement" of nominees releasing an album during the period.
