I reckon so. You Me At Six dropped nearly 92% in their second week, so Mogwai would easily be long gone from the Top 200 if they did the same (assuming they sell 7k by the end of this week). #200 sold 832 copies last week so even an 88% drop would see Mogwai out the Top 200 too.

I thought they'd stopped compiling any info outside the top 100?

That is true for singles, for albums they still do a top 200.

impressive that Mogwai managed to sell nearly 1K yesterday and did better than all the big names (Dua, FF, Ariana)
Not sure if this is the Wednesday update: the OCC are saying Mogwai are now 2.5k ahead of Ghetts

(they say Ghetts is closing in, but that's actually a bigger gap than yesterday?)

Yeah I'm confused by this! They say Ghetts had his best day of sales yesterday, so more than 700 copies which he sold between the Monday and Tuesday update. Lets say he sold 800 copies yesterday, that would put him on 3.7k and Mogwai on 6.2k. I don't see how Ghetts is going to overcome that gap if the gap is already widening.

Didn't realise Mogwai had been going since the mid-90s :o Quite the result for them to be looking at their first number one album after 10 releases!

First I heard of them was No Education = No Future when it made The Chart Show's indie chart in 1998

I posted this in the Album discussion thread, what MW wrote about Mogwai last time they charted:

It is 20 years next month since Glaswegian rock band Mogwai's debut album Young Team gained a toehold on the chart, debuting at No.75 on sales of 2,683 copies. Their 10th regular studio album, Every Country's Sun, is also the highest-charting, debuting at No.6 (6,331 sales) to surpass their ninth, which became their first to make the Top 10 when it debuted and peaked at No.10 (7,783 sales) in 2014. They have been in the chart since then with Atomic, the soundtrack to a BBC war documentary with instrumental soundscapes fashioned by the band, which reached No.20 (4,242 sales) last year.

^So their last 2 albums did 7.7K and 6.3K, seems on page with the current one...

Foo fighters have slowed down completly since the first update, Mogwai starting to look safe now but potenially setting a new record for the lowest weekly sales for a number 1 album.

Turns out this is indeed Wednesday's update. Ghetts did indeed get his best day of sales yesterday but the gap has increased further as Mogwai had even more!

Wait that Jls Time song isn’t even them or is it another JLS am I missing something ?

It's a drill track actually titled 'Look' by Switch x J9, but it was uploaded to streaming platforms under the name 'Time' on JLS' artist page for the purpose of getting lots of curiosity streams from JLS fans (which seemingly worked for about 2 days which may well be enough to see it go top 100 this week).

This sort of thing happens all the time with unknowns uploading their music under bigger artist names (I get at least one of these fakes a week in my release radar) but it usually gets sorted out by Spotify etc quickly, surprisingly it took as long as 2 days for "Time" to be taken off of the actual JLS' artist page.
