February 22, 20215 yr Just gutted that not-JLS almost certainly won't be able to finish in the top 100 tbh
February 22, 20215 yr The not-JLS saga is very funny! https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/m...ntinues__32503/ Mogwai at #1, Foo Fighters #2, Ghetts #3 - 1800 sales separate the top 3! I would expect to see Daft Punk perhaps make the the top 10 albums by Friday too.
February 22, 20215 yr I would expect to see Daft Punk perhaps make the the top 10 albums by Friday too. I'd very much doubt it, I know sales are low this week but they would still need at least 3k to make the Top 10.
February 22, 20215 yr You wait years for Tom Grennan to get a Top 40 single and then two come at once :o
February 22, 20215 yr You wait years for Tom Grennan to get a Top 40 single and then two come at once :o Except the OCC won’t count the one with Ella as his name is second [rolls eyes] Assuming they make top 40, it will be tight this week due to poor Spotify...
February 22, 20215 yr Except the OCC won’t count the one with Ella as his name is second [rolls eyes] Assuming they make top 40, it will be tight this week due to poor Spotify... His name being second doesn't stop it counting as a top 40 hit for him...
February 22, 20215 yr Just gutted that not-JLS almost certainly won't be able to finish in the top 100 tbh Same here it would have made a very funny chart story if they had.
February 22, 20215 yr His name being second doesn't stop it counting as a top 40 hit for him... To clarify. OCC have made it clear that only the first named artist will be recorded as a lead artist. It will be treated as if it’s a feat for him by the OCC.
February 22, 20215 yr To clarify. OCC have made it clear that only the first named artist will be recorded as a lead artist. It will be treated as if it’s a feat for him by the OCC. Which doesn't really matter either way, it's still a top 40 hit for his tally :P
February 22, 20215 yr I guess that means Tom would be allowed 3 of his own songs in the chart if they all did well enough.
February 22, 20215 yr We don't know what the albums sold yesterday but Ghetts is doing better on streams than Mogwai and Foo Fighters whilst Ariana is the most streamed, so it's still all to play for with the #1 album. It does seem that we'll see a new sales low for the #1 album though. We know what the albums sold yesterday now - Mogwai sold less than every other album in the Top 8 but has enough of a lead to remain at #1 at this current rate, although he's would only be #1 by a margin of 49 copies over Dua Lipa, so it looks like she'll be #1. Definitely sub 6k sales though. Foo Fighters and Ghetts will probably be pushed out the Top 5.
February 22, 20215 yr Dua and Ariana also have the extra missing streams to add that sure Mogwai don't have (Mogwai are a band by the way, not a he)
February 22, 20215 yr Unless of course Mogwai go for a hard push, I don't think they're the sort of band that would though
February 22, 20215 yr I cant see Mogwai holding onto the number 1, id say its either the foo fighters or Dua Lipa who will take it by the end of the week.
February 22, 20215 yr Random observation: the top 2 albums currently being Mogwai and 'Medicine At Midnight' - sounds like a bit of a dangerous combination :basil:
February 23, 20215 yr Album sales are so low :( I wonder if we'll see a big boost to sales mid-late April if non-essential retail is allowed to open again April 12th. Glad to see "Prisoner" holding onto a top 20 placing for another week. I hope it holds come Friday.
