All artists have unreleased tracks and abandoned album concepts.

In Jesy's case though, it would be best to release several singles and make an album around them. Like Mabel and Becky Hill etc have done.

I definitely agree with you, I think she should release a few singles first!

Also i've today received a few responses from Jesy in DMs on instagram, she's been SO sweet, amazed to have heard back  Rooting for all four girls

i don’t think a lot of artists actually want to work with jesy though, so many artists have unfollowed her
Until Jesy reflects, apologises and alters her actions/image accordingly then her musical output is going to be eclipsed by everything else. I don’t mean to bring up the black fishing and I know we all have opinions on it that don’t need to be retread but it is so closely linked with her realistic chances of success and media opinion as a whole, as she has alienated, by offending the majority of her fan base and peers.

I mean, obviously when they launched Boyz they must've felt confident about having material to follow it. Clearly the drama surrounding it gave the label cold feet or else we would've had a second (or even a third...) single by now.

The label should have dropped her tbh.

I still can’t believe she hasn’t apologised or addressed her behaviour in fact she just seems to be carrying on as normal which is so worrying.

I can’t see many artists wanting to work with her either...

theres obviously trouble in paradise... there must have been some form of an album ready to go last year otherwise no label in their right mind would have been ready to launch (especially with a nicki feature that would have cost thousands).

Her team spoke to The Mirror:

A spokesperson said: “In recent months, Jesy has been in the studio recording in Los Angeles developing her body of work with a whole series of tracks. And fans can rest assured they can expect to hear new music from Jesy very soon."

A source added: “The new music is captivating…it’s going to raise the bar, and some.”

"Things had been progressing “at normal speed and without any hiccups.”

The source added: “everyone is very excited by the new music. It’s going to be very special indeed.”

No offence Slayer but Jesy and her label can feed any BS (they’ll always be positive)

They are never openly going to admit that they thought her album wasn’t any good and asked her to redo it!

Who knows what the truth is but it’s all dead in the water at this point.

I've followed the pop/music industry to know that when they delay single #2 from a campaign and send the artist back to the studio it's never good news.

She, her team or her label is of course never going to admit that. They clearly got spooked by the backlash and the relative underperformance of Boyz bar the first week.

Maybe she'll truly land a banger for single #2 that will course-correct everything but I don't think it's looking good especially with the three other members throwing their hats into the ring in the coming months.

I totally get where you guys are coming from and I agree her team/label can say anything. I, as a fan of all four girls am excited and hope for a good roll out for single number two and hope she does a lot to better her image and rectify a few things.

I do think she needs to hurry as like Tommie said i'm pretty sure one of the other girls are probably going to release something imminently.

Jesy/her label/whoever is running her career really don't have a clue. Putting aside the blackfishing/drama/Boyz release, it's just insanely stupid that she left the group 18 months ago and has released one single. She had so much time to build up a solo career for herself and establish herself before the other girls released and now even though she had a huge head start she's going to be even more forgotten about when Jade/Leigh/Perrie drop their debuts.

Just get a move on. Release something. Get on a feature. Do something. I don't even support her AT ALL and check this thread out of curiosity but it's so frustrating seeing situations like this happen with anyone. When is it going to click that radio silence and constantly going back to the studio for months KILLS CAREERS?

It's the same with Normani. She left Fifth Harmony over four years ago and has released two singles. You need to erm, release music in this industry.

I think the issue is that they thought Boyz was the single that would pretty much kick-start the campaign and keep the buzz going for the other singles - of course, then the drama happened and Boyz died a quick death on the charts instead of staying on it for months. Now she pretty has to start over and find that one song that can kick-start her campaign, but it also means as you said that she's losing her head-start on the other girls. Jade's release sounds like it's just around the corner and there's just no way radio is going to support four solo careers from Little Mix. If we're lucky they'll end up supporting two in the long term (if even that, generally band members going solo have a lousy track record of getting support, especially for girl groups).

Didn't like Little Mix's music but is working with producers that were involved in it? Make it make sense.

To be fair, Little Mix straddled a lot of genres and I'm sure she liked some tracks they did, but might've not liked the overall direction. Loose Change worked on LM5, which was more R&B focused which seems to be where she wants to go with her solo music, so it makes sense.
