The higher end of this is currently panning out very well indeed, I can't argue with anything that has made the top 10 so far

5. Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill

Average score - 7.651

Writer - Kate Bush

Top scores : 11 - Dante77, 10 - DarrenJ77, Leonardo, marcinjaro, Shoat, dandy*, Bjork, StoneDragon, AaronTM, AH Gold, JackJones, Ansel, Bré

Low scores : -1 Mack, 0.5 - Jason, 1 - xajnipi

There will not be a winner from the 80s this time as this is the highest placed song from that decade. On the 'Hounds Of Love' album, the title has 'A Deal With God' in brackets but this part was left off the single release as the record company were worried it would not receive much airplay in religious countries. A remixed version reached number 6 in 2012 after it was used in the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games.

'Africa' and 'Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)' are both up there with my absolute favourite songs of all time  fab to see them both so high.
6. Toto - Africa

From 1983, this was one of four top 40 hits for the Los Angeles band and the only one to reach the top 10. The song has had a revival in recent years and has been described as "the internet's favourite song".

I think I have missed out completely this revival in recent years.

Not a big fan of this Africa song but I prefer it to that overrated, boring and dated Kate Bush song.

'Running Up That Hill' I can take or leave, but what a song 'Africa' is - would happily have seen that in the top three.

Is it allowed to post the top 4 left?

I only know 3 of them and I'd like to know the other one. :P

EDIT: Whatever. I've already discovered the other one left. Well, I like 3 of them and hopefully the other one will miss out on the top 3.

I don't remember the original list and I don't want to know. All I know is that Dua will appear because people keep mentioning her!
great to see my favourite band inside top 4! I am pretty sure Dua is also still to come. Can't recall the name of the rest tho

4. Keane - Somewhere Only We Know

Average score - 7.858

Writers - Tim Rice-Oxley, Tom Chaplin, Richard Hughes

Top scores : 10 - Grandwicky, DarrenJ77, Jester, Bjork, jimwatts, Chapman, StoneDragon, Shaky1981, AH Gold, Achabaan, JulianT, coi, Ansel, Bré

Low scores : -1 - jszmiles, 1 - Adelita, 4 - dandy*

From 2004, this was the first of four top 10 singles for Keane. Nine years later, a cover version by Lily Allen reached number 1 after being used in the John Lewis Christmas advertisement.

I really liked Lily’s version but you can’t beat the original, Hopes and Fears is one of my all time favourite albums. Great band, song and album
Fantastic result for Keane to finish top four! Beautiful song  (and agreed on the "great band, song and album" comment above too)

3. Dua Lipa - Physical

Average score - 7.981

Writers - Dua Lipa, Jason Evigan, Clarence Coffee Jr., Sarah Hudson

Top scores : 11 - ready for it, Nick F1, George.keh, StoneDragon, Jason, 10 - DarrenJ77, Jade, Leonardo, Alex!, Mango, Tawdry Hepburn, detonate, brokenrecords, Mark223, West, Ansel

Low scores : 0 - King Rollo, 2 - chartjack2, Borza

The most recent song in the final, this reached its chart peak after nine weeks in the top 20. It was the eighth top 10 single for Dua Lipa.

That's a fantastic result for Physical (and I don't go along with the "it's too recent" arguments), like the rest of the top four it was in my first round votes. It surely will be a strong contender in the next ROTD as well.

Both songs remaining were 10s from me in the final!

A big fan of Dua. One of the freshest pop female singers of recent times.

Ah I was rooting for Keane but #4 is still a great result for them and I love the top 2 as well. I’ll be happy whichever way it goes!

As great a song as 'Somewhere Only We Know' is, I have to admit I do actually prefer Lily's version

'Physical' is obviously the best pop song of 2020 so fully deserves its place here and I'm surprised it's not number one.

I genuinely have no idea what the top two are :D

'Physical' top 3 :o incredible! That was my favourite song of last year with a whopping 12 weeks at #1 in my chart, deserving of the hype
