I was certain that we had done one of these types of contests before (in this part of the forum), but I can't seem to find any trace of it  But anyhow...

WELCOME to the Movie Forum Song Contest. In a bid to try and boost/drive forum activity, I think we should get our teeth into a contest. The contest where we award our 10 favourite songs using the Eurovision points system (12 to our favourite, 10 to 2nd 8 to 3rd down to 1 point for our 10th fave)

In this contest, we are asking you to send your favourite piece of Score from a movie.

The score is a strong and important part of the movie. It's usually the thing that kick starts the emotions in you as you rally and root for your faves or will completely DESTROY you in a certain scene. A very integral part of a movie!

What is a "score" and how does it differ from a "soundtrack"? Here is the google explanation of it:

"A score is the specific musical piece or incidental music that accompanies a scene or moment in the film, and a soundtrack is the compilation of songs and sounds that comprise all of the film's music."

So to be clear - no 'Let It Go'/'How Far I'll Go' & yes to John Williams/Hans Zimmer type work.

Is that clear orr...? (Sorry I am not good at explaining stuff lmao)

I'm going to be strict and say if it has been entered in any type of contest on the forum before, then I will VETO it (so no 'Adagio For Strings' which I'm pretty sure was entered to a dance forum contest?), no CHART HITS and no THEMES (So no sending the theme to 'Star Wars', 'Jurassic Park', 'Halloween' or 'The Exorcist' (which I think was sent to BJSC Halloween anyway) etc..) Basically, don't be CHEAP cheap.

If you're unsure on what qualifies confirm it and I will get back to you on it, but have a couple of back ups just in case!

- I'm not going to be strict on the same composer being sent by multiple people, but I am making it 1 piece of score PER FILM.

- All entries to be anonymous until results - so once you have confirmed, don't announce what you're sending plz.

- I will give you until Monday, 22nd March 2021; 23:59 (GMT) Tuesday, 23rd March 2021; 18:00 (GMT) to get your entries in and confirmed.

- CONFIRM HERE <-- (Click to fill in the google form)

YES, this is right up my alley, I have so many options for this :cheeseblock: Some are perhaps a tad well known but I'll have a look for a more obscure one.
Wasn't expecting but I used to listen to a lot of film composition so need to find the best one from my old playlists xd

Ooh, if you're wanting to take part and want to find an entry, comment in here that you're looking and I will send you a reminder about 2 days before the deadline incase you forget!

(Chez and Jade I have you on alerts already)

I guess this sounds somewhat interesting, I'll have a look and see if I can find anything x (although there's a decent chance I'll forget this exists as I don't frequent this forum much so yes please for reminders lol)
I have a specialism in these, or at least I used to, yes please. I'll send something sometimes soon but if I forget you're welcome to remind me.

Yeah, your back-up will be your entry!

If this one is a success I will look into doing another one in the future where those kinda scores can be used! :D

I think I might change the entry after digging more into the movie that the score comes from -- seems it has terrible reception

I'll compromise: you can send the score to a film that's about dinosaurs? (As long as it's not the theme x)

8 confirmations so far!

Pretty surprised at the variety of tracks used!
