Posted March 26, 20214 yr In the last battle, All Saints had a moderste victory over the Spices in the Hollier vs Black Coffee battle, but it eas a tie in the second question r.e best next single. The year is 2005, the year of Love Actually, Sugababes and Girls Aloud. However, J-Lo managed to mount the first of her TWO successful comebacks that year. She released, Get Right, a bouncing, trumpet-laden song that bounced her bop all the way to the no.1, where she stayed for one week. The song sold around 400,000 copies in the end and was one of the biggest hits of the year. The video is all about different Jennies from all walks of life going to the "gay club". Most of these Jennies are Jennies from the Block. Dj Jenny takes centre stage as she takes her daughter or sister to work. The daughter or sister bops along to the trumpet song, as it came to be known, and sings the final few seconds of it. Whilst most people were shocked that J-Lo was able to mount a successful comeback so many years after her last flop, there was some criticism, as well. The song was criticised for its repetitive trumpet sounds, because once they start up, they literally do not stop for the entirety of the track. On the other hand, we have Amerie. Amerie debuted in 2005 with had two big pop bops. The first hit was with, One Thing, which is sonically similar to Get Right. It has repetitive real instrumentation, in this case drums, but they a the drums aren't as prominent as the trumpets, and are less sonically dissonant. The drums are more harmonic and blend in with the rest of the track, rather than standing over the top and announcing their presence as in Get Right. It is bouncy, punchy, with confident vocals, just like J-Lo's track. The song received a lot of praise, but it was not as big of a pop or global hit as Get Right. It peaked at number 4 in the UK, but, like the Killers' Read My Mind, it stayed in the chart for 14 weeks and was a long-running hit, spending a lot of those weeks in the top 10. It sales are unknown and are a modern mystery. Interestingly, both songs reference cars! But which sang is best and which is best left forgotten? bbqVg_23otg 1WIsnC-h1d0
