Kath second biggest week of being SOUR, it would be #1 but we know your favs don’t get there even with rigging x
If anything doing all this with Geffan a label that doesn’t have anybody huge makes it more impressive, she’s not even had good Airplay, imagine if she was with Columbia lmaooooo
Olivia built up a massive following of teens from that show who were invested in her relationship with Joshua and the breakup and drama with Sabrina. This was before Drivers License was released.

It means she already had a fanbase to start with instead of having to build one from scratch like most artists have to. Hence why people started calling her an industry plant when she had the massive success instantly.

And then on top of that having a hugely invested label like Geffen who literally have no successful artists right now, and having support from Taylor and the swifties from the get-go. Shes obviously a talent, but you cannot deny she's been privileged.

There is always an element of privilege and luck when it comes to this level of success though. Music quality is subjective.

Dua is #1 in our hearts

Anyway let me take my bitter ass out of here seing that everyone's jumping on my neck for having a negative opinion

I bought this in HMV today as their own version with a different cover and poster is only £5.99!

It’s a solid debut, not outstanding but it shows a lot of promise and the three singles are varying shades of great.

It’s been so long since a song that sounds like good 4 u has smashed in the charts, it’s nice that she’s not following current commercial trends.

Yeah the fact that Lie Lie Lie and Skin did practically nothing is definitely significant in the fact she’s clearly connected much better
I give the album solid 7/10. I don't LOVE it apart from the singles and Brutal, which is a clear highlight, but I really like her thematical approach and vision here. It's a cohesive piece of work and a huge debut, no matter how you look at it.

84 metacritic score - 15 reviews (14 positive and 1 mixed)

8.7 user score - 538 ratings (469 positive, 17 mixed, 52 negative)

Wow, that’s an excellent score so far! *.* I’ve seen a lot of positivity and praise about the album, I’m really pleased for her.

We’re all entitled to different perspectives of course, but I can hand on heart say that I’ve not forced myself to like her music, in fact it’s been quite the opposite for me, I’ve found her easy to like and the three singles were instant loves.

I’ve seen a fair few people say “this music isn’t for me” in the sense that they see themselves being way out of the target age range, and I do get it, but like... we’ve all been teenagers, even if for some of us it was a long time ago (I’m 33!). Nevertheless I find her music strikes a chord with me. Like others have said, I’m excited to see her grow as an artist over time, given how good she is at just 18.

Love this and completely relate. Until a few days ago, I had no interest in listening to her music - even when she was number one for weeks on end. But I thought let’s give it a go and didn’t expect to enjoy it. I’m also in my 30s    And yeah I can see the teenage angst. But actually her music sounds good! I’m excited to be stanning someone different again. Just for a little bit

First day spotify figures are out :cheeseblock:

Occupies the entire Top 9 in the US and the entire album is top 20 in the UK :cheer:

 I'm glad I'm not alone in being an Olivia fan of a certain age :kink: I keep thinking that maybe I'll stop being able to connect with newer artists in the way I did with those who were around in my childhood/teens/20s, but Olivia is great and I'm laminating my stan card

Sorry if this was already mentioned, but HDD is projecting a #1 debut in the US with 195-220k first week sales!

She is 18 and allready can write some incredible lyrics like damn she is amazing. No skips at all on this album was very hard to rank.
