Anyway we will be resuming v. soon so here's some hints for 96 to 100 :cheer:

one album loses two more songs.

ACM or CMA? Why not both! :cheer:

Add up the tracklist numbers of the 4 songs above. Divide that by 4 and your answer is the tracklist placement of the other song I haven't given a hint for above :kink: A certain tracklist placement on a Taylor album takes a big hit this section!

If any of y'all read closely, you can easily guess all 5 songs here! :o xx

It helps if you know what the next 5 songs are

#100-#96:

100. Our Song [Avg. 7.47]
99. Betty [Avg. 7.5 (less 10s)]
98. This Love [Avg. 7.5 (more 10s)]
97. Dorothea [Avg. 7.552 (less 10s)]
96. Cowboy Like Me [Avg. 7.552 (more 10s)]

I think it’s time we got going again, don’t you?? In this first section from the top 100, Folklore, 1989 and Taylor Swift all say goodbye to one track each but Evermore loses two! Eeek..

First out at 100 is Our Song, a great country bop. It was the third song released from her first album and made the top 20 in the US. Taylor originally wrote the song for the talent show of her Freshman year in high school. When I think about the ‘Magic Show’ I put on at my talent show during my GCSE’s and Taylor was producing this… I mean… This song was given few 10s from DionTheSats123, Nina West and Ready For It.

Next is Betty, at 99! It’s a travesty that such an amazing song is going so early. Listening to this song again while I write this, I’m reminded just how much I love it! It’s so good. I should have given it a 10 (I gave it 9.5). This song received a 10 from Tafty and another 9.5 from MrAndrewMan. The song received a few more 9s and 8s but suffered from some really low scores like a 2 from Doug and a 4 from Jade ouch! This song was actually written by Swift and beau Joe and is a fab return back to her country roots. The song was sent to US country radio and I just love her performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards - could she look any more country?! This song deserves much more…

At 98 is This Love from 1989. I’m sorry if I offend any diehard 1989 fans but this is definitely one of my least favourite songs from the album. But I think this says more about the quality of 1989 than anything else. In saying that, I do love the tenderness in her voice, the imagery created in the versus, the chorus is beautiful and the bridge is just wow. Damn I think i’ve just talked myself into loving this song so much more than I thought I did… Swift apparently initially wrote this as a poem which later turned into a song - which kinda makes sense. It was the first song written for 1989. Swift said the song was “like saying goodbye to the past and the previous four albums.”This song scored a couple of 10s from Jade, John-James and MrAndrewMan but also scored some lows of 5s from Dexton and Ho-Lee Smokes.

Evermore loses its first track in this section - Dorothea. This was initially one of the stand out tracks for me. When talking about Dorothea, Taylor said: “There’s not a direct continuation of the Betty / James / August storyline, but in my mind Dorothea went to the same school as Betty, James and Inez. You’ll meet her soon.” You’ve got to love her… It scored one 10 from Jade and a few 9s from me, Blacksquare and John-James. It had quite a few 8s but then some pretty low scores from Dexton (3.5) and Among Haus (4).

At 96 is Cowboy Like Me. Evermore survivor is highlighting that this isn’t the most popular track on the album so I’m surprised it made it this far. The backing vocals are by Marcus Mumford (from Mumford and Sons) though he isn’t credited on the track I don’t think. This was given a few 10s from Blacksquare, Jktoon and John-James and 9s from MrAndrewMan and Ultra. The rest of the scores were between 5 and 8.

Edited by London

Dorothea this low really :( glad to see Betty out though.

I Wish You Would is too low

Definitely two of the weaker evermore moments out in the most recent section. I don't mind them but I only really listen to them during a complete album listen.

I mean all 5 are v. good but I wouldn't have been gutted if this was the 101-105 section :kink: (saying that tho, Our Song/Betty/Cowboy Like Me would all probs make my top 100 )

Our Song is a fabulous single and easily one of the highlights from debut *.* Poor debut only having 3 songs remaining now tho!!

Betty is fabulous ofc cos its on folklore, it has slipped down my rankings on that album overtime tho! I'm kinda shocked it made the top 100 considering its divisiveness on here!

This Love is fine, a pretty nice song (and still great obvs cos its a Taylor song) but if this was on Red and not 1989 it'd be like 140th.

dorothea has de-grown on me, it's fine but yep def an evermore filler, I don't go back to it at all unless I'm listening to the album in full & it should be lower here. Kinda love how Betty and dorothea both left in this section tho! August(ina) escaping x

And cowboy like me is really nice, probs one of the songs on evermore that's grown on me the most <3

one album loses two more songs. --> evermore, this one y'all could've got if u read closely haha!

ACM - Betty - if you search up Taylor ACM, all the results are for Betty

CMA - Our Song - the first video result for me on Taylor CMA is Our Song but quite a few other songs showed up to and I oop x

tracklist numbers of the four songs above = 44, divide by 4 and you get another track 11 (following Our Song & cowboy like me), which is this love x

not sure if i'm just being stupid but im so confused

ok those were way more complicated than I realised now reading back on it :kink:

Is Mean going to leave already?

Mean survives tf!! <3

Hints 91-95

I am assuming it's me doing this section with the amount of songs I stan leaving so expect this to come in the next couple days x (no there is no hint in that sentence I promise!!)

I know you're patiently waiting this section, I think a deluxe track is leaving but still, don't call me.

and I managed to fit all 5 songs into one hint sentence above so guess away x

this may be wrong but the "don't call me" instantly made me think of the illicit affairs bridge

"you're" not sorry too? maybe i'm just reaching :kink:

91. illicit affairs [Avg. 7.63]
92. I Know Places [Avg. 7.62]
93. You're Not Sorry [Avg. 7.62]
94. I Think He Knows [Avg. 7.58]
95. Forever & Always (Piano Version) [Avg. 7.56]

So in this section, we have only album cuts! 2 from Fearless, 1 from folklore, 1 from 1989 and 1 from lover depart this time round!

Let's start with the Fearless tracks! With two absolute gems from this album that I am glad have been appreciated enough to kinda surprisingly make the top 100 as Fearless is usually dismissed on this forum! First up in 95th, we have the piano version of Forever & Always, which is by far the highest of the Fearless deluxe tracks (and is highkey the only one that is a pretty good song on the deluxe and I oop). This is such a beautiful take on the main album track (which is still to come!) and the emotion of the lyrics really hit so strongly against the piano backdrop! A beautiful track and one of Taylor's best ballads <3 This received an 11 from DionTheSats123 & a 10 from fellow mod London, but a 2 from Lee pushed this down about 20 places oops! In 93rd we have possibly my favourite Fearless album track in the form of You're Not Sorry  This song was one of Taylor's earliest highlights of how excellent a writer she is and the production alongside it is gorgeous <3 The track has always had a special place in my heart and I've def had more than a few good sobs to this masterpiece, I'm so so glad it made the top 100!! It received 10's from myself, Lunar & Riser, whilst receiving a few average scores but nothing too bad!

In 94th we lose another Lover album track, in terms of the wonderful bop I Think He Knows. This was originally the lead single of Lover until a certain mess was recorded, and places 75 places higher than the actual lead single here. It's a v. Carly-lite bop and I adore the chorus <3 This was def in my top songs on Lover at the time but its aged quicker than I thought it would, still love tho *.* This received 10 from Cremey & quite a few high scores, but two 4's, a 5 and a 5.5 brings it down here :(

We finish the section off with both 1989 and folklore losing their 4th track so far. We are loving the similarities between 1989/folklore/evremore so far with all three albums losing 4 tracks, with one of them being a deluxe track!! Anyway in 92nd is a CAREER HIGHLIGHT, but I will take a top 100 place as it is generally pretty underrated. I Know Places is utterly STUNNING. The chorus, the bridge, the pre-chorus!!! The lyrics are so clever too and I am living for the metaphors in the song <3 Her vocals in the chorus, I LOVE <3 Quite ironically, I remember the days when 1989 came out, literally EVERYONE was ranking this in their top 3's on the album (icr if so much on this site, but that was definitely the case on twitter/insta) and I didn't get the hype, it was acc my least fave on the entire album for the first month or so. Then it clicked with me and it's now my fave non-single from the album easily!! However, nowadays unfortunately its underrated af and feels so underappreciated :( Both myself (shockingly) & Doug gave this 10's, whilst a 2 from Lee drags this down significantly gah. And into 91st we have illicit affairs, another song from the masterpiece which is folklore. It's a terrific song but not one I really go back to unless I'm listening to the album in full (which tbh is pretty often so). It always seems to never be anyone's least fave on folklore but in everyone's bottom 5 or so, so I'm not too shocked its exited this early! Tho it did supririnsgly over perform in the recent folklore survivor poll, maybe it's gaining in appreciation :o Anyway it does pretty well here! The scores pretty much highlight what I said earlier about how people feel about this song, with all the scores being in the range of 6 to 9.5!

don't call me = illicit affairs
