I’ve always liked You’re Not Sorry. The CSI remix in particular.
I love that remix. I listen to that one more than the original.

Yes yes yes! The CSI remix is why I gave it a 10 here

#85-#81:

85. Death By A Thousand Cuts [Avg. 7.73 (less 10s)]
84. Tis’ The Damn Season [Avg. 7.73 (more 10s)]
83. If This Was A Movie [Avg. 7.75]
82. [King Of My Heart [Avg. 7.761]
81. Coney Island [Avg. 7.763]

And so, out of the next five songs to go, Evermore says bye bye to two great songs, Lover loses another and so too does Reputation and Speak Now.

Starting us off, at number 85, is Death By A Thousand Cuts. I don’t have a lot to say about this song - I think it’s pretty cool although it is definitely not a favourite of mine. It scored generally average scores of 7s and 8s - which I think feels quite fitting for this song - although it did have a couple of 5s from fellow mod Ultra and Dexton and a couple of high scores of 9s from Joseph Styles, Jade and Jktoon.

Next is Tis’ The Damn Season. This song is brilliant IMO - I love it - and I really think a well managed christmas promo push could have pushed this song further. When I sit back and listen to it, it brings me back to my uni days (and early 20s) when I would go back to visit my folks for Christmas and the ‘adventures’ which would ensue. This song scored a wide variety of marks, ranging from a 10 (me), 9.5 (Ultra), to a 4 (Dexton) and a 5 (Doug). I'm a bit shocked I’m the only 10 - or maybe not - but hey ho. I’m glad it made it this far.

At 83 is If This Was A Movie, a deluxe edition track from Speak Now. I am really pleased that Speak Now is yet to lose many of its tracks and I also think it’s impressive that this deluxe song nearly made the top 80. It was released as a promotional single in the US and did pretty well there. This song was awarded mostly 7s, 8s and 9s, the 9s coming from Jay, Jktoon, John James, MrAndrewMan and a 9.5 from DionTheSats123. Its lowest score was 4.5 from Dexton.

King Of My Heart comes next and boy has Taylor done some great performances of this song - a link to one I’ve posted above. I love the lyrics to this song - who hasn’t felt like this??? Especially the first verse. The song is speculated to be about Joe Alwyn and she also performed the first acoustic version of the song for her friend's engagement party - love her… The song was given pretty mixed scores, with a 10 from John-James and Ultra.

And last stop before the top 80 is Coney Island. Definitely one of my favs - although less so now because I kinda played it to death. I’ve never been to Coney Island but I wish I’d had it near me growing up for some first dates. Yes, I know I’m romanticising here. But the best option I had growing up was Barry Island, which I guess had a charm of its own… The song was released to US alternative radio and is described as the third single from the album (apparently). It achieved an 11 from Cremey and 10s from me, Jktoon and Nina West but a 4.5 from Among Haus - boooo… I would have liked to see this top 50 but hey ho.

#80-#76:

80. Afterglow [Avg. 7.79 (less 9.5s)]
79. the lakes [Avg. 7.79 (more 9.5s)]
78. Fifteen [Avg. 7.81]
77. You Need to Calm Down [Avg. 7.82 (less 11s)]
76. evermore (feat. bon iver) [Avg. 7.82 (more 11s)]

First out in this cluster is Afterglow, an album track from Lover. Taylor sings about "self-sabotaging a relationship, overreacting about a misunderstanding." It received a high score of 10 from John-James, 9s from Doug and MrAndrewMan. On the lower end, a 6 from blacksquare, Dexton, and Nina West.

Next, we have the bonus track from folklore, the lakes. "The poetic lyrics see Taylor introspecting on her semi-retirement in Windermere, the largest lake in England, located in the Lake District of the country. Taylor fantasizes about a red rose growing out of tundra "with no one around to tweet it", indicating her idea of a utopia free of social media, feuds and urban settings, getting away from the society, her critics and detractors, and finding solace with her lover in the wilderness, like the Lake Poets did." (Wikipedia) It received a 10 from London, a 9.5 from MrAndrewMan, 9s from Jade, John-James, and Ultra. Several 8s were also given. The lowest score was a 5 from Among Haus.

Third out is a track from Fearless. Fifteen was written about Taylor's best friend that she met her freshman year of high school, Abigail Anderson. It received a 10 from Riser, 9s from jtkoon, London, Nina West, and Tafty. Lots of 7s given. A low score of 5 was given by Jade.

In this spot is another song from Lover, but this time, it's a song that was chosen as a single. "Its lyrics see Taylor address internet trolls and homophobes, voicing her support for the LGBTQ+ community." High scores of 10 were given by DionTheSats123, Doug, London, and me. The lowest score was a 0 (ouch!) from blacksquare.

Lastly, we have an album track from evermore, the title track. "On evermore, Taylor tackles topics of mental health when she felt like the whole world was against her. However, she finds hope that the pain she endured during these times wouldn't last forever." An 11 was given by blacksquare. 10s were given by Cremey and Nina West. Some 9s from Among Haus, Jay, and MrAndrewMan. The lowest score was a 5 given by London.
evermore, the lakes & Afterglow are all stunning, would like to have seen all of those a little higher tbh!

The score I gave Evermore was way too low. My biggest regret in life lol

For the first few months of the album release, I just couldn’t connect with the song but it suddenly took off for me as couple of months ago. Evermore is stunning, especially at one point when the tempo switches.

Didn’t realise The Lakes was written with the Lake District in mind - great bit of trivia and another stunning song as mentioned.

You need to calm down has such great lyrics. Sad to see a few of these go actually.

I’ll do a proper comment (+ hints will return!) later but ngl every song between 76-85 (apart from tis the damn season & king of my heart) are too damn high.

Also screaming at you need to calm down doing this well here where it was the ONLY song that does worse in any Taylor related rate than Me! on other forums

My favourite from that batch is 'the lakes' - so dreamy with the poetic references  I'm a big fan of 'Afterglow' as well!

'You Need To Calm Down' is still a mess and 'evermore' a disappointment after the high of 'exile'

I used to find 'Fifteen' a bit too twee but it's grown on me more with Taylor's richer 'Taylor's Version' vocals

I’ll do a proper comment (+ hints will return!)

I forgot about hints before I posted, my apologies!

Even the lakes, one of the songs you gave a 10 to?

No worries haha, it would've delayed things too much and we don't need hints for every single section!

I gave the lakes a 9, tbh though that one I'd probs only have like 5/10 places lower!

'You Need To Calm Down' narrowly beating 'the lakes' hurts my soul x (a pretty good section that aside, I heard 'Fifteen' for I think the first time via the re-recorded version when checking out Hot 100 new entries the other week, that along with 'Forever & Always' were pretty nice discoveries!)
