Yep, at number 9 is MILEY CYRUS - MIDNIGHT SKY. A song that, whilst I enjoy it from time to time, I don't think it's nearly as good as most others seem to think. It scored an average of 10.18 in the Miley Cyrus rate to storm to victory. Everyone that rated gave it a 10 or 11, everyone except me. The production is niiice, she capitalised on the 80's synth-pop really well, that's not my issue. Her vocals however... yeah I find them grating majority of the time on this. A lot of people love this though. I just wish I could love it more </3

Oh I was quite off with my 'Lose My Breath' prediction but bang on with 'Midnight Sky'! Both career highs :heart:

At number 8 is LITTLE MIX - SWEET MELODY. The most recent song in this rate by a mere 2 months so it's appropriate it followed 'Midnight Sky' I guess :P What can I say about this song that I haven't already stated several hundred times on this forum already?? It's an almighty BANGER. EXACTLY the song they needed at exactly the right time. It's still hasn't hit me that this is a UK number 1 smash hit single! So deserved. Surprised it managed to overthrow 'Touch' and 'Move' in the Little Mix rate so soon though, but what a song. Love this so much and it still (to me at least) sounds so fresh. Amazing.

Ooh I was spot on with 'Sweet Melody' too! I just felt that the recency would dampen that a bit. I know 'no tears...' is fresh in the grand scheme too but that's at least had 3 years worth of memories for people rather than 6 months. Fantastic stuff from them anyway albeit not quite my favourite LM song.

The best ever Little Mix song imo.

At #7 we have ALL SAINTS - PURE SHORES, which I would have been sure would have been a top 3 contender, if not the win. That -1 from Cameron really played a part and hindered it, however for it to have won, it needed to be an 11. A 10 would have put it in joint 1st, but would have lost due to less 11's! I've definitely appreciated this song more over time as I was never really that big a fan. I've never really been a huge All Saints fan tbh they are to Spice Girls what Sugababes are to Girls Aloud... y'know? A bit *too* serious and moody for me to get into them properly, when all I want is just carefree pop! Probably explains why I've been appreciating them more the older I get but I get the added nostalgia with Spice Girls and Girls Aloud etc.. I do like this song a lot though. It's chill, breezy and really immaculately produced.

Oh of course I should've factored Cameron's -01 into the equation more -_- :lol: that song is absolute perfection!

 

Rooting for a 'no tears left to cry' win now :o

Good song but definitely wouldn't have expected it to win this rate.

Before we move into the top 5 we say goodbye to RIHANNA - WE FOUND LOVE (FEAT. CALVIN HARRIS). This worldwide smash somehow elevated Rihanna from global superstar to in another world of her own. Untouchable levels. Calvin Harris produced this and in some places he's credited and others he's not, but his production on this is absolutely STELLAR. So BIG and EUPHORIC. Possibly THE most defining hit of the 10's? A case can certainly be made, imo. An almighty feel good banger. Amazing song. This won Calvin Harris' singles rate and I'd probably guess it would win Rihanna's too...

I think it’s between DOMO or No Tears but I wouldn’t be mad at Who Knew causing an upset. Every single song in this countdown has been absolute perfection for me really- even the ones I wouldn’t rate first in their own respective artists singles catalogues. (Aside from My Heart Will Go On :))

We kick start the top 5 with KELLY CLARKSON - BECAUSE OF YOU and the song with the highest "Lowest Scores"! No score below 7. One of the greatest power ballads to ever exist imo. Absolutely heart breaking, emotional and powerful - which is the perfect recipe for when you're alone and just wanna belt out the song at the top of you voice as you pretend you're Kelly herself. An all time fave of mine, but saying that A- I'm still surprised it beat SUBG, BTHE, UTT and Stronger to actually advance to here and B- I'm surprised it managed to hit top 5! What a great song. It was a massive hit WW for Kelly at the peak of her career. Still a regular heart.fm staple too! We love to hear it!! P.s. she is the greatest vocalist of all time, imo.
