November 28, 20213 yr Looking at the current T10 for Christmas 1991, it's pretty woeful apart from the KLF/Tammy Wynette (of course) and the lovely Kym Sims. Loved that one ! That bit in the video for “Justified & Ancient” where Tammy appears and all these chart feats scroll along at the bottom is very X-Factor.. although these are actually impressive stats! "5 marriages, 3 children" amazing. :D The vocal performance for “Roobarb And Custard” has to be one of the worst ever on Top of the Pops. I mean, just awful. The song is a complete mess too, but it isn't the first children's TV theme remix in the chart - that would be Mark Summers “Summers Magic” (remix of The Magic Roundabout) from February 91- which got to #27. A shame that we won't see much of early 1992 but I guess you have to respect that presenters wishes.
November 28, 20213 yr Today I found the vinyl x there KLF album (The White Room) in a second hand shop for like 5 pounds :D
December 8, 20213 yr Adore that Kym Sims track so much, what a life anthem. BANGER. Also, I totally missed this - but V.I.M.'s “Maggie's Last Party” - a number 68 hit from January 1991 is a bit of a lost gem. fH0_dr-JxYw
December 27, 20213 yr Author There is another week of 1991 sales (Chart date 4/1/92 and broadcast on 02/01/1992) but I doubt we'll get that until 2022 So this isn't been shown. The shows restart on Jan 7th with the 9th Jan show :( I'll post the final 1991 chart soon
December 27, 20213 yr Author 4TH JANUARY 1991 ends with not much to report, “Bohemian Rhapsody/ These Are The Days Of Our Lives” remains No 1 for a third week though it can’t keep the frantic pace of its first fortnight and loses 75% of its sales week to week, but it was so far in front even that doesn’t signal the end of its reign as it walks past the winning post on 72,000, but still 718,000 in three weeks is nothing short of amazing in current times. fJ9rUzIMcZQ Two days of pre Christmas sales keeps the top 10 buoyant but The KLF and Tammy Wynette take full advantage to overhaul Diana Ross and push 4-2 (41,000) and could be in with a shot at the top depending how quickly Queen fade in the next week. Ross fades 2-3 (34,000) and George & Elton continue that slow descent 3-4 (32,000) but will cross the 300,000 mark next week, rounding off the top 5 are Right Said Fred and Jocelyn Brown who stick it out at No 5 (32,000). Not much movement in the bottom half of the big 10 with Brian May tripping 8-10 (22,000) which allows Shaft and Hammer to move up a place each 10-9 (23,000) and 9-8 (23,000) respectively. Guns N Roses hold at No 6 (24,000) and Kym Sims makes a month stuck at No 7 (24,000) something she didn’t foresee! 1- BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY/ THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES- Queen (72,000) 2- JUSTIFIED AND ANCIENT- The KLF/ Tammy Wynette (41,000) 3- WHEN YOU TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME- Diana Ross (34,000) 4- DON’T LET THE SUN GO DOWN ON ME- George Michael & Elton John (32,000) 5- DON’T TALK JUST KISS- Right Said Fred/ Jocelyn Brown (32,000) 6- LIVE AND LET DIE- Guns N Roses (24,000) 7- TOO BLIND TO SEE IT- Kym Sims (24,000) 8- ADDAMS GROOVE- Hammer (23,000) 9- ROOBARB AND CUSTARD- Shaft (23,000) 10- DRIVEN BY YOU- Brian May (22,000) http://i.imgur.com/VOnU0Z3.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/CRJZP7d.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/VT4x3TD.jpg

December 27, 20213 yr Adrian Rose episode- as is the 16th Jan episode. That’s right, there’s quite a few over the next 18 month ffs!
January 7, 20223 yr Justified And Ancient so deserved to be a #1! Great song including my fave artist of all time, the late great country singer Tammy Wynette.
January 7, 20223 yr Is there a reason they didn’t bother showing the last episode? TV Executive Producer Adrian Woolfe, then known as Adrian Rose, has refused permission for episodes where he co-presents to be repeated. There are 15.
January 7, 20223 yr That’s right, there’s quite a few over the next 18 month ffs! Yes, 15 in total with quite a few over the next 2-3 months.
