Biography

Born Tijs Michiel Verwest in the small Dutch city of Breda in 1969, Tiësto went on to become more than just a world-famous electronic musician—he largely created the model for a powerhouse DJ in the 21st century. He got his start in the mid-’80s, when the skeletal sounds of Belgian new beat ruled Holland’s clubs, but it was trance—sleeker and more emotive—that moved him. His first proper DJ mix , 1997’s Magik One (First Flight), showcases his signature style in dreamy synth melodies drawn out above tough but streamlined drum grooves. As trance’s foremost ambassador, he pioneered stadium raving with solo DJ concerts in sports arenas; in 2004, he played for millions at the Summer Olympics opening ceremony in Athens. And his Club Life weekly radio show and mix series, one of trance’s premier global platforms, became synonymous with the genre itself. But you don’t become the world’s No. 1 DJ by sitting still. By 2011’s Club Life: Volume One Las Vegas, Tiësto was following through on a shift that had begun with his 2009 album, Kaleidoscope, a blend of high-energy trance and airy pop melodies that heralded the next big rave revolution: EDM. With 2014’s A Town Called Paradise, he made good on EDM’s anything-goes promise with a collection encompassing soaring toplines, massive drops, and other big-room thrills without turning his back on the aching melodies that made his name. As the decade drew to a close, playful collabs with a new generation of producers who had come up in his wake—The Chainsmokers, Oliver Heldens, DJ Snake, Hardwell—only served to confirm his versatility and cement his legacy. - Apple Music

Yes it actually would be better with Pitbull (it has the tempo of Timber) which is something I never thought I would say

Samples Strings of Life so it has that sound.

Yeh real piano house sound!

I feel like this song would work best with someone like Pitbull on the verses instead  the chorus is really fun and I enjoy the production but that rapping is sooooooooo bad :')

I argee with you there!

What we can conclude from this is that it needs a Pitbull remix :D
Tiësto holding up better than wellerman considering they both hit acr on the same week and were at similar positions before!

It's great that The Business is getting played this week. Definitely one of the best dance tunes of the year.

Biography

Trippie Redd

Talking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe near the end of 2018 about what he hoped to achieve in the upcoming year, the rapper Trippie Redd said, simply, “Whatever comes to my head.” Looking back, it seems fair to say he made good. Like his peers—including Playboi Carti and the late Juice WRLD—Trippie represents a class of young rappers less interested in crafting the perfect monument to their ideas than jacking you directly into their creative brains, approaching the fluid pace of the internet as content delivery system with hustle and zeal. (“I go in regardless of whether I’m inspired or not,” he told Lowe about the studio. “Even when I don’t feel like working, I try and work.”) You can feel it in his music, too: Jump into a Trippie Redd project—whether a proper album or his A Love Letter to You mixtape series—and you’ll hear a sound that veers from depressive, emo-influenced trap to streamlined R&B, tracks as influenced by the provocations of Marilyn Manson as the finesse of Lil Wayne.

Trippie was born Michael Lamar White in Canton, Ohio, in 1999. After his older brother died in a car accident in 2014, he took refuge in music, making tracks with a cousin in Canton before relocating to Atlanta, where he recorded and released a flurry of EPs into the digital slipstream. By the end of 2017 he’d racked up a series of increasingly high-profile collaborations, breaking through to the mainstream with the Travis Scott-featuring “Dark Knight Dummo.” In spring 2018, he declared himself “bigger than Satan” (a boast borrowed from Marilyn Manson); a few months later, he released his debut album, LIFE’S A TRIP. ! followed in 2019, while his fans—devoted and very online—mused with Kabbalistic fervor over fragments from streaming sources and social media rumored to be on 2020’s Pegasus. - Apple Music

Playboi Carti

"Playboi Carti is one of those rappers who represents a creative line in the sand: Either you’re with it or you ain’t. Punky, exhilarating, and daringly simple, Carti’s music pushes the bright minimalism of 2010s trap to almost abstract extremes, combining twinkly synths with noisy bass and a flow that sounds like one long ad-lib, or—yeah, let’s get it out there—baby talk. The gambit is clear: Like Cam’ron’s embrace of the color pink or Young Thug’s trailblazing singsong, Carti’s babble is a middle finger to preconceived notions of what it means to be a rapper, and to rap’s general tendency toward masculine tough talk—or, as a line on 2018’s “R.I.P.” went, “f*** that mumblin’ shit, f*** that mumblin’ shit/Bought a crib for my momma off that mumblin’ shit.” Forget being a voice of authority, there are times it doesn’t even sound like Carti is saying words.

Born Jordan Carter in 1996, Carti got his start in the Atlanta underground, connecting with A$AP Rocky at a festival in 2015—a relationship that vaulted him toward the mainstream and also put him at the emerging junction between streetwear and high fashion. (He may be one of the few people to have eaten nuggets from McDonald’s while being outfitted for a Louis Vuitton runway show.) If 2017’s Playboi Carti (which included the Lil Uzi Vert collaboration “Wokeuplikethis*” and the ubiquitous “Magnolia”) set the bar, 2018’s Die Lit ripped it out and knocked a wall down with it." - Apple Music

Biography

Challenging power and perception with a free-spoken approach to rap, Dave has indelibly amplified hip-hop’s voice in Britain. Born David Orobosa Omoregie in Brixton, London in 1998, Dave suddenly implanted himself in the UK rap scene in 2016, first with the electric grime alliance “Thiago Silva” with AJ Tracey and then when Drake jumped on the remix of the velvety “Wanna Know” from Dave’s first EP, Six Paths. Rebuffing label advances to pursue his career independently, he demonstrated a self-reliant streak on releases such as his 2017 EP Game Over, whose “Question Time,” a scathing attack on Theresa May’s Conservative government, garnered him an Ivor Novello songwriting award. Dave’s full-length debut, the Mercury Prize winner Psychodrama, followed in 2019; epitomizing his achingly honest rap style, it laid bare personal vulnerabilities while challenging institutional racism in a provocative fashion rarely heard in British rap. The centerpiece of the lavishly soundscaped album was “Black,” a heart-wrenching portrait of the prejudice affronting Black lives. At the 2020 BRIT Awards, where Psychodrama won Album of the Year, Dave started his performance of “Black” by accompanying himself on piano and ended it by excoriating British Prime Minister Boris Johnson as a “real racist” and executing a perfect mic drop. - Apple Music

Biography

Mixing frosty electronic textures, spare beats, and clear, emotive vocals, singer/songwriter AURORA works in a similar dark pop milieu as artists like Oh Land, Lykke Li, and Lorde. Her debut album, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend, went to number one in her native Norway upon its release in 2016.

Born Aurora Aksnes in Stavenger, she began writing music and lyrics at a young age, eventually releasing her debut single, "Awakening," as a 17-year-old in late 2013. Honing her live show and building on the momentum from the song, AURORA issued the follow-up single "Under Stars" in late 2014. She signed with American label Glassnote and U.K.-based Decca for her debut EP, Running with the Wolves, which arrived in the first half of 2015. The singer/songwriter then came to further prominence after covering the Oasis track "Half the World Away" for the 2015 John Lewis Christmas ad before following up with her debut full-length, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend, in 2016. The album charted across Western Europe, topping the chart in Norway and reaching the Top 30 in the U.K., as well as cracking the Billboard 200 in the States. The follow-up, 2018's Step 1: Infections of a Different Kind, saw her integrating more down-to-earth themes, including politics and sexuality. It returned her to Norway's Top Ten, peaking at number seven.

Stepping away from her solo work, AURORA entered the studio with the Chemical Brothers, contributing to their ninth album, No Geography, which was released in April 2019. Her third LP, Step 2: A Different Kind of Human, followed on Glassnote and Decca in June of that year. In December, her profile received a boost when she sang on the song "Into the Unknown" from the soundtrack to Disney's Frozen II. She later appeared alongside Idina Menzel to perform the song at the Academy Awards in 2020. She followed up with the standalone single "Exist for Love." - Apple Music
