Italian right-back Davide Zappacosta has left Chelsea to return to Serie A side Atalanta.

The 29-year-old was at Atalanta before moving to Torino in 2015 and then signing for Chelsea in 2017.

It was EUR 180M. So probably around that in sterling!

Thought so, thanks. :)

Kane staying at Spurs was the least surprising news this window.

Don't think City will be out for a striker considering Pep loves his false 9 formations and playing midfielders/wingers as strikers. Also has everyone just forgotten about the existence of Gabriel Jesus?

The Real Madrid offer for Mbappe is a joke. PSG aren't gonna sell their star man when they're still attempting to win the UCL and it's not like they need the money  160M is couch change to them. Also if I were Mbappe I'd be personally insulted by that offer. Madrid somehow think he's lost value the past 3 years?

The talk about Mbappe is Real Madrid put an offer in as they were desperate to get him- he can leave on a free next season so other clubs will obviously be interested. There was lots of reputable talk that Liverpool are after him and would be willing to put a release clause in his contract. Can't see it myself as the outlay would be huge, but from a business sense it would make a lot of sense if you knew Real Madrid would pay 200m Euros in 2-3 years time.

I really don't think City need a striker, though I get why they'd want one. Jesus played more than I realised last season but Aguero only played 559 minutes in the PL and they've added Grealish to the attack, a huge amount of depth with multiple options who do well in the central striker role.

Juventus have told Cristiano Ronaldo they are willing to sell him this summer - but only on their terms.

Portugal forward Ronaldo, 36, still has a year left on his contract.

Crystal Palace have agreed a deal to sign Will Hughes from Watford.

It will be worth £10m including add-ons, with an initial £6m. A medical will take place tomorrow.

It's going to be hilarious if he ends up at City

Ronaldo has told Juventus he wants to move. Honestly, if he ends up at City it's gonna be hilarious, the Utd fans are going to fume and he doesn't fit in to how City play  Though I suppose he will bang all those penalties in.

Haaland allegedly going to the replacement for Mbappe if he goes to Real Madrid. This weekend is going to be mad!

I can't see any of these deals actually happening. Happens every window with all this build up which ends in a damb squib. January 2011 was the big exception to that with those crazy last minute moves for Carroll & Torres.

I can't speak for other fans but I personally wouldn't be enraged if CR7 does go to City (whether it actually be this year or next), it wouldn't tarnish his legacy for me. Although it would be a dick move if he were to go full Adebayor on us!

Plus at what point do we start to question how on earth you would field 6 players each game out of De Bruyne, Foden, Mahrez, Silva, Torres, Sterling, Grealish, Rodri, Fernandinho, Gundogan and Ronaldo

According to Sky Sports News, Man City are out of the running for Ronaldo.. :cheeseblock:

Ronaldo coming to Utd now  Never stop Utd, never stop. Can't wait for the "just think what Rashford/Greenwood" can learn from Ronaldo to come out along with the next protests. A true romanticised signing with zero logic in it at all once you take the emotion out of it.

Time to transfer Bruno out of your fantasy team!

Oh yeah it's definitely a romanticised transfer but let's not forget he's still objectively one of the best players in the world! Don't think anyone would complain at him stealing their spot in the starting XI
I would love it if Ronaldo came back to us, I wish he never left in the first place! I won't believe it until I see him wearing a Teamviewer Man United shirt though. Even though he's 36 his stats are still incredible and deep down I don't think fans of any team would say no if Ronaldo wanted to sign for that team.

Nah I disagree it's a dreadful signing with no thought to it whatsoever. Is your problem scoring goals? Not really. Your tactics now become serving Ronaldo, which is exactly what happened at Juventus and Portugal. He doesn't press or track back enough these days. It's why it would have been a dumb signing for City too as that's their biggest strength. Don't get me wrong he is a good player, but this is exactly the sort of silly signing Man Utd always make when they're being played by an Agent. Sure I'm sure the move will pay for itself, but looks like Cavani is off on his bike now.

I don’t think it’s a necessary for United, we need a new midfielder first, but I don’t agree with anything you’ve said here. Playing as a striker, we don’t need him to drop back to much. There’ll be much younger wingers in Greenwood and Sancho to cover anything defensively. Cavani seems like he wants to play for Uruguay in the international break which means he will have to isolate and miss even more games.

Ronaldo is not the signing he one was but I don’t really see anything negative about it at all. Just the boost it will give the team and the fans will be massive.

You need a striker to track back and do defensive work at some stage if you want to win the big games. Playing Sancho, Fernandes, Pogba and Ronaldo in the same team looks fun on paper but there's absolutely no tracking back there and would get slaughtered against City/Liverpool/Chelsea. United's problem was never scoring goals, it's always been the creativity and lack of defensive stability.

He will score goals don't get me wrong, but it's a complete legacy/vanity signing with absolutely zero strategy to it (and what it's worth Juve actually scored less goals since they paid for Ronaldo). #GlazersOut though

I don't think you can categorically call it a dreadful signing until we see the results. I'm not getting carried away and wouldn't suddenly think we're gonna win the league. But we've essentially done all our shopping already and have to assume the board/manager are happy with the defence as it is (we'll see how quickly Varane adapts for example).

So if we're literally just adding one of best goal scorers in Europe to the squad, taking away the sentimentality factor, I don't see how that would negatively affect anything. It's not like any of the players he'd be replacing in the starting XI would be doing any defensive duties anyway.

£500k a week for someone who you were not interested in signing 72 hours ago is a dreadful signing. At this stage of his career how much better is he than Cavani? Ronaldo is a good player don't get me wrong, but people also don't see the negative outlook on the team he has had for Juventus and Portugal because everything has to go through him. It has a negative detriment on the team.

You should be expecting to win the league or CL signing Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo. Anything else is a failure really.
