Emma is just talking about her book, doubt she remembers that Wannabe was even their first single x

"We've been chatting and there is a few bits coming up. Actually there's a little something today that's fun, but next week I think we'll be announcing a little something, just for the fans, just something kind of new that they're gonna wanna get their hands on, I think."

Well, bring it on! At least I won't feel the need to refresh that damn Universal Store page until next week :kink:

I wonder how many will be made available, do you think wannabe will have any chance of Top 75 or even top 100 when released,

We need to download the song on iTunes and stream it on Spotify. If we do that, plus buy the vinyl / cassette, I’m sure we can get a better position than Mel B’s Today.

Id love to see it back in the charts, its def a legacy song and a huge hit already so it would be nice for it to return if only briefly, could also help add a bit of interest in their Greatest hits.
They have changed the cover to the vinyl, which probably explains the delay in announcing it. I did tell you they monitor Spice Circle I'm sure the overwhelming negative reaction and it leaking really put the freight up UMC. I think they see this as a big seller potentially with a new spice girls song on it.
Whoa really? That is quite a turn around...

Yep new cover is on Spice Circle. Like I said the delay in making vinyls isn't it takes ages to produce them just there are so few plants and so much demand so this vinyl will be booked in and have a deadline of say a week before print day to finalise artwork.

I just hope UMC aren't pissed off or put off other potential releases because of the reaction to the vinyl.

Love the new version more colourful.

Ahhhh I definitely like this version a lot more than the previous one. I think they've made the right call to redesign it at the last minute!

Like Maz says it's more colourful, I think this will be more appealing to casual buyers, as well as the fan base. I feel like their look in this photoshoot is more "classic Spice Girls", than the actual Wannabe photoshoot.

(No change to the cassette design)

I think the case will look better in person it's either going to be shiny silver or glitter silver which obviously isn't easy to mock up and make look realistic.
Who's to say the original vinyl image on the French site wasn't a temporary mock up. I'm sure UMG commissioned more than one potential design. I just don't believe Spice Circle has that much power. It's not like this new image is that different design wise.
To be honest, it's not great either but whatever, LET ME HAVE ITTTTTT!!! :cheer:
All I care about is listening to Feed Your Love on Spotify. The rest of you can enjoy the beautiful vinyl. 😂

Converting the Canadian prices to UK results in £16.63 vinyl / £10.09 cassette. I'm so curious to find out what they'll be charging here...

To go Top 100, it'll need to generate at least 5000 sales in a week. Top 75 - 6,000. Top 40 (in order to beat Today, lol) - approaching 11,000.

Any song which is older than 3 years old is on ACR (accelerated chart ratio). This means that streaming sales are halved for the weekly chart. So for instance, if Wannabe had 3,000 streaming sales in a week, only 1,500 would count towards the singles chart (but all 3,000 would count to the total sales). Therefore Wannabe has quite a disadvantage.

Another hinderance is that the vinyl isn't available until July 23rd, whereas the download and seemingly the cassette are out on July 9th.

It's not exactly ideal I'm not sure the momentum is going to be there to get it back into the chart. I'd be very happy to be proved wrong!

Tbh I'm not really sure what to expect from Wannabe 25 physical sales. The somewhat muted response to Spiceworld re-release vinyl/Greatest Hits normal vinyl/Forever vinyl makes me not want to get too carried away.

The original image appeared in a press release and was sent to Amazon, to me that suggests that UMC were intending for that to be a true reflection of the product when they submitted those pictures?

It doesn't really matter what the reason for change is, of course, and we'll never likely find out an official reason

I've read a theory that the silver cardboard packaging is already printed, which is a separate process to the vinyl discs, which haven't been printed yet. So whatever the reason for the vinyl design change, they had the time to do this before they submit the design to the factory.
