Nice there’s a bit of activity in the lead up. Emma and Melanie C both hosting shows on radio tonight, the special hosted by Richard E.Grant and various articles. Hopefully there’ll be some fun posts this coming week

Maybe it was a bit much to expect 3 hours of Spice Girls content, but for some reason I didn't anticipate so much non-Spice Girls music being played :kink: Within the first 15 minutes we've only had Wannabe and a brief clip of Geri introducing it, otherwise we've had music from Lady Gaga, Jason Derulo, Nelly, Bruno Mars... with Zara Larsson, Sam Smith and Pink on the way lmao.

Ooh yes, as Spice Girls Net says, Melanie C - My Life in a Mixtape is on Radio 2 at 9pm!

So far...

Emma recalled meeting the Spice Girls at a train station (she loves mentioning this lol). There was a clip of Geri introducing Wannabe. A clip of Michael Sheen recalling when he found Geri doing Yoga in his living room (lol). Judge Rinder shared that Wannabe was a favourite of his when he was in law school, and also 2 Become 1 soundtracked one of his favourite nights~. Melanie C introduced Say You'll Be There (Emma said Mel sent it to her in their Whatsapp group). Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden reeled off some facts such as how many countries Wannabe was #1 in and how much Spice sold worldwide (they went with 31m). Wannabe, Say You'll Be There, Stop and Spice Up Your Life have been played within the past hour and a half.

And 95% of the rest of the show has been music by other artists :P A scam x

Thanks for the round up. It is indeed a bit of a scam lol

ALSO they labelled it as including Little Mix etc and it sounded like the Little Mix girls had been invited and were going to do similar to Amanda Holden/Michael Sheen type of thing. BUT actually they just used the audio from a Little Mix interview from back in like May that was given to another news agency LOL

I'm getting it off my uncle for the exact same reason!

I mean I feel they could have at the very least focused on other "girl power" bands and female artists since obviously 3 hours of Spice Girls (and solo) content is just never going to happen... Like they could have had Spice Girls, the 5 solo girls, Madonna, Kylie, All Saints, Girls Aloud, Supremes, Diana Ross, Sugababes, Little Mix, Bananarama, The Bangles, The Supremes, Adele etc

This is what I thought it was going to be like ah classic Bunton :teresa:

In general I don't think hosts can necessarily 'choose' which songs they can play.

^^^ That would have made a lot more sense! The only one of those artists that has been played is Little Mix (Heartbreak Anthem).

Oh well, I've heard some classics I've not heard in a very long time :heehee:

This looks exciting, at the same time, I would never ever want to spend any money on The Sun and supporting this disgusting paper. So what to do

Little trick: it is a free extra supplement, and usually they dont set off the alarm if you leave the shop without paying for it, so just steal it :teresa:

Hahahaha, good one  The Sun doesn't deserve a single penny.

Is either Emma or Mel Cs radio things worth listening back to ?

Seeing as the physical release has been pushed back until the end of August we should really push for the streaming and the digital EP this week on wards.

Is anyone else up for spreading the word on all various forums?!

Also, should we advise fans to download the EP individually so that ‘Wannabe’ gets more sales.

I wouldn't recommend Emma's show (nothing hugely interesting was said in all honesty, most of the show was just old songs unrelated to Spice Girls) and I haven't heard Melanie's yet!

By the way, Emma mentioned the Wannabe 25 EP once during the show, but it amused me because it was along the lines of: "It includes a new remix, which is exciting"... sigh! It's a common old remix from 1996, Emma x

It's only just occurred to me that the EP hasn't been up for pre-order digitally, which seems like a bit of an oversight... they could have guaranteed some sales for it already, but no!

Yeah it would be more beneficial if people downloaded Wannabe, Wannabe (Junior Vasquez) and Wannabe (Demo) individually, because that would create 3 sales instead of just one if they downloaded the EP as a whole purchase... but I'm not sure how many would be willing to do that, particularly if it costs more to download them individually hmm.

On the other hand it could be argued that the EP being downloaded as a whole and going high up the iTunes album chart would be beneficial too...

I'd say everyone download feed your love get it #1 on iTunes and then concentrate on Wannabe come physical release
