Unless the girls do some major tv interviews as a group to promote Spice 25, I don't see it re-entering the top 10 album chart. Can anyone think of an anniversary edition of an album re-entering the top 10?

Queen's GH just a few weeks ago was number 2 thanks to its anniversary release. Missed out on number 1 by a few hundred sales.

Yeah unless that comes from an official source, I would be reticent to believe that. They of course take suggestions from the fans but I really doubt they green light the vinyl when they logged on to Spice Circle... They have been doing vinyls lately so it makes sense to plan for one as they have all been relatively successful anyway.

I mean you don't have to believe me but they constantly monitor Spice Circle. It's the reason the leaked first cover was changed before going to print of the vinyl too.

If you were the team at Universal who were sorting these releases why would you not constantly check Spice Circle for reactions and inspiration.

It's like you've forgotten Victoria threatening legal action against Denden when they posted pics of her kids. Or Melanie C calling fans on Denden morons. Melanie C and the Universal team regularly message Sam (not me) who mods Spice circle over things.

That's why there is mock ups of a wannabe CD single being done now as Spice Circle has mentioned them a lot.

I mean you are assuming acts don't actually love touring. There are loads of acts who never need to ever lift a finger money wise but keep recording, touring and so on because they love it and are still ambitious.

I mean ultimately it's up to them but they also love to play the game and keep dropping hints, always leaving the door open because they know Spice Girls fans are also their main solo fans too. If they said 'sorry we are done, Spice Girls is in the past' it would definitely hurt their solo projects and careers.

I said anniversary edition of an album, not a greatest hits. Huge difference! A re-release of a GH is much more likely to re-chart in the top 10 than an album.

Queen are on another level to Spice Girls though, a whole league above them.

These girls obviously love to tour. Emma's 2004 Free Me tour and Geri's 2002 SIYWGF tour was amazing! Oh wait............

Yeah, I'm sure most artists love touring, being away from their family and living in a bus/hotels.

Do you really think they’re gonna put their loved ones in danger because Sammy is screaming and wants another reunion with Geri standing there doing nothing and Emma & the Mels carrying the show?

Totally uncalled for to single out Sammy for no reason there. Do that again your post will be deleted.

Of course they do, you think Elton John, Madonna, Queen need to ever hit the road again but they do.

I agree but it takes less than 5k to make top 10 and you can release loads of formats these days. Look at Melanie C she just needed the extra formats and lower sales and scored a top 10 album.

If Spice gets a cd, cassettes and multiple vinyl releases with unreleased tracks tacked on you only need less than 1k hard-core fans buying the editions and you are there.

It was an anniversary release it was its 40th anniversary and it was released on like 4 cassettes and an exclusive vinyl to commemorate it.

Oasis anniversary edition of What's the story was recently number 2 or 3 I think too thanks to its 25th anniversary release of vinyl formats.

I guess you can't tell the difference between a greatest hits and a album. One contains 16 - 20 hits. The other normally only has 4-5. I wonder which one is going to sell more to the general public........

I agree that Emma and Geri clearly don't love touring to the extent of doing a world tour. Geri is clearly not very comfortable on the stage anymore, her thing was always about being famous not being a performer. Emma clearly enjoys performing however she puts her family first (and good for her for doing so). Mel B clearly loves the stage but she doesn't have the attention span to stick at something for long periods of time, she has said herself she gets bored when on tour doing performing the same thing night after night. Melanie C however adores touring it's what it is all about for her as evident by the many shows and tours she has done over the years.

Lots of other artists clearly love touring, Queen for instance wouldn't have to lift a finger ever again and they are touring the world with someone who wasn't even in their band they love it that much. Again though these are the acts that went into it because of their love of music and performing I don't think all of our girls went into it for that reason.

Yes because the general public were glamouring to buy 4 cassettes that were sold through their store.

It's like you havent seen the album chart this last 2 years, as long as you have a half decent fanbase and are prepared to release a variety or formats a top 10 album is yours.

Emma and Mel C were missing the albums top 50 in the late 2000s now they are getting to #11 and #8. They aren't selling more, they aren't more popular, the album chart is just set up right now that low sales and multiple formats means high peaks are easy to achieve.

That is true I can see what you mean tbf. Fingers crossed that would be excellent if so!

Huns, Emma has ALWAYS been up for touring, always. As far as we know, she and Mel B have always been up for anything Spice-related. Obviously when the kids where younger, it might have been a different game, but if it is up to her, they will go on tour.

I really dont know why people saddle Emma with Geri's reticence to tour. Baby is always up for some fun!

Imagine being the biggest girl group ever but never once doing a proper world tour or commit to anything apart from those two years. To be honest they deserve to be dethroned by those young ones who are more committed. I can wait as long as it takes but they need to do something properly when this pandemic is over.

Congrats on Mel C for getting a top 10 album and then it sinking to the bottom of the ocean the next week. Chart positions don't mean anything these days. A good chart position is used for one day worth of PR and that's it. Some fans care way too much about sales and chart positions. At the end of the day those things don't matter.

It was always the main aim when 25th anniversary plans were being discussed. The singles chart absolutely depends on playlisting and when discussions were starting no one new where we would be by Wannabe anniversary covid wise.

Wannabe ended up being more than planned (I'm talking universal here not the girls) as they saw the demand for a physical release for it too.

Very few artists celebrate a single release these days but album anniversaries are big business. All acts are getting in on it as a chance to push loads of formats to fans. Even Gaga is doing celebrations for 10 years of Born This Way with a vinyl release. Sugababes have multiple formats of their debut album that wasn't even that great a seller back in the day.

Pretty much every Abba, Prince, Bowie etc album gets anniversary editions these days.

So are you going to apologise to Sammy for being so rude to him or just change the argument entirely?
