Sorry pal but for me, this is not nitpicking at all. Most fans have been asking for unreleased songs, or demos of unreleased songs. What we got was lame, and you know it.

The physical variants are cute and all, but it's just money grabbing at this stage as the only thing that brings what the fans wanted - unreleased songs - is the CD. Great, but if the vinyl and cassette variants only have different coloured covers, then there is very little incentive to get them, in my opinion, as we already have so many vinyl variants of those same 10 tracks released over the years....

That's my issue. The 5 covers is cute but it's not worth spending like £300 on. That's just cash in.

I mean we can agree to disagree. I thought fans wanted to be milked, that we stood by and thought why never us when other artists got the multiple cassettes and vinyls treatment. Now it's here I'm not going to complain about that.

You can't blame them that some of the demo's already leaked, they are unreleased songs, so is feed your love, love thing remix and the spoken word I assume last track.

Of course we want to get milked, but we want to get milked for things that are of value. Look at Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, etc. They WENT TO THE VAULTS and are doing extensive re-releases of old albums with vast amounts of unreleased songs, not just demos that are floating around online...

But yes, of course, if you are happy with these releases, then great. I am not, personally.

I think in the long run, I will end up buying it all as I find them on discount or even in HMV stores, or whatever but just cant justify it to buy it all at once as dont think they are worth the money.

I'm definitely not saying it's perfect, it is just ticks enough boxes for me. From a band we haven't had a single official newly released song from in 14 years I'll take what they've offered.

I haven't ordered it all as I can't justify it all though.

The spine of each cassette having the letter/girl on it is a nice touch - another aspect to encourage people to buy a complete set. They'll look like this if placed together:

This is SO cute! Even as someone who doesn’t collect anymore I’m so tempted by these 🤣.

I may possibly purchase a Melanie C vinyl but that will be it.

By the way, Wannabe is down to #97 in the midweeks today. Honestly it's a shame that it's not likely to hold on, given the tease of it actually making it into the midweeks... but yeah, I think we were probably hoping for too much that the physicals would sell like hot cakes at those prices. In a way it's quite funny that the Spice album items are cheaper, individually (i.e. £17.99 for a colour Spice vinyl vs. £21.99 for the Wannabe 25 picture discs, and £9.99 for a colour Spice cassette vs. £12.99 for the Wannabe 25 cassette).

Love everything in terms of merchandising. I’m not happy (and surprised) from a music perspective. I think it’s now or never to release the unreleased, I don’t see fans in 10 years caring about a Spice Girls reissue with one or two new songs. Pity.

As for SYBT mix, OMFG, they all sound terrible.. Emma voice is shaky, I can’t hear Victoria, Melanie C only sang a part of her adlibs, and Geri seems on the verge of losing it. Mel B is great (although that sounds demo-ish).

Why releasing such an inferior version to one of their greatest song? They have the chance to push Love Thing (maybe with a feat or a 2021 version). Jesus, these girls and their team.

Thank God the merch is great. I’m still thinking how I want to go bankrupt. 😂

Why wasnt the rap version of SYBT released?

I would have liked the live recording too from that Live Album that never materialised.

We need the rap version.

I feel like they should have had "Demo" in the Say You'll Be There tag, because people would be more forgiving of its quality (perhaps). 7" Radio Mix makes it come across like a main version.
The SYBT song definitely is rough but I love hearing these things, parts of the song that changed or sped up or didn't make the final cut.

Why? It isn't a demo.

Maybe they are saving it for the 50th anniversary edition. ;)

It's definitely far from finished, and up until now, an unused version. The sound levels aren't consistent throughout the track, and they sound rough. It's essentially an early version before the version we know and love was created and properly mastered.

I mean, it didn't find its way onto a 7" vinyl or the radio either lol, yet here we have a 7" Radio Mix tag. Demo is closer to the quality on offer.

It’s not a demo it’s the mix before Mark “spike” Stent mixed it into the song we all know

Ok guys I didn't say it is a demo, I'm just saying how it could have been described as that, to be closer to describing the quality this version gives us... -_-
They should’ve called it Work in Progress mix then :P

"A demo (shortened from "demonstration") is a song or group of songs typically recorded for limited circulation or for reference use, rather than for general public release."

Well it certainly had "a limited circulation" for 26 years, and was used as a reference for the final version that was worked on x

Wannabe is currently at #86 in the chart update

I wonder has it any chance, even a tiny one of staying top 100.

I think it'll likely end up about 1,000 or so copies short of Top 100. The streaming of modern songs is too strong for Wannabe to keep up with. It's down to #97 today.

Noooooo. It looks great, everything. But I’m scared to buy it and then being angry at myself for wasting money on something I can’t listen. The 5 MCs though, they’re a lovely collector’s item.
