That’s lower than I thought for Ed! Olivia still 150k ahead on Spotify… maybe it will be closer then expected this week.

He’ll be #1 officially though with the physical

And the massive downloads plus the video views.

Pretty disappointing for him though considering he’s been absolutely everywhere with this on the radio.

I'm quite relieved that Ed hasn't cruised to #1, I've liked a decent amount of his material over the years so am not a hater by any means, but on this occasion I much prefer 'good 4 u' out of the top 2, so would prefer that to stay.

Love to see the Tyler, The Creator invasion, his new album is fantastic  happy to see Doja's Ari collab in the top 50 too.

Great streaming numbers for Måneskin - new highs of 356,928 for SLAVE and 335,286 for Beggin'

Moderate oof xx (573k would still be a great opening day for basically anyone else but that does have to be seen as a bit of a disappointment for such a heavily marketed new single from Ed Sheeran)

Tyler doing better on Spotify than Apple as expected, 'WUSYANAME' his highest at #13, 'SIR BAUDELAIRE' and 'CORSO' at #18 and #20 and more songs at 21, 22, 25, 27, 30, 33, 37 & 44 (pending the full top 200 update).

Doja 'You Right' in at #10 (also great showing compared to Apple!), 'Ain't Shit' at #28 and 'I Don't Do Drugs' at #43 are her only other newies in the top 50 although 'Need To Know' is also back at #50. Looking good for Tyler to get the #3 album this week and Doja #4?

Ed only 2 on Spotify

‘Only’

Buzzjack is one of the few places where that is deemed a failure

#2 isn't a failure but for Ed, it's definitely an underperformance for day 1. I'm confident Ed and his team would've expected more with all the hype and build-up this single's had. It's clearly not a flop but for someone like Ed, it shouldn't be a surprise that many of us expected a lot better.

It would be a great opening for anyone else but it's quite humorous given how Ed Sheeran craves #1s more than anyone here does for their favs (himself). Sure he'll manage officially regardless.

All of Tyler's album makes the top 75 - remaining tracks are at 61, 62, 71, 73 and 75.

The rest of Doja Cat's album at 60, 67, 76, 77, 88, 92, 99, 116 and 129 ('Kiss Me More' is back up to #3 with a fairly big lead over #4). J.I.D getting what I think is his first appearance in the UK Spotify top 100 (previously peaking at #105 with 'Down Bad') on 'Options' at #99, I'll take it xx

Other newies:

#46 Headie One

#49 Aitch

#53 Fredo

#128 MIST/Burna Boy

#132 Bastille

#186 Chase Atlantic (since when are they a big enough name to chart on Spotify xx pre-release TikTok hype I'd guess?)

A bunch of older Ed songs have also re-entered the top 200 (and 'Shape Of You' is back up to #100).

Surprised "Ain't Shit" is Doja's 3rd highest....it's not the opening of the album or had support / hype from what I can see? Thought it would be the Ari Collab or Woman :(.

There were a ton of people on the Reddit /r/popheads thread for the album posting along the lines of 'we finally got Ain't Shit', I'd not heard of it before now but it looks like it has been teased for quite a while.
