August 28, 20213 yr Author Chelsea were sublime at times but showed their ugly and devious side once James was sent off.
August 28, 20213 yr Author Thought Norwich were solid but unfortunately suspect they're just lacking a little quality up top and will make just enough mistakes at the back. Same as last time really.
August 28, 20213 yr Author Not sure what Vieira told Crystal at at halftime, but they definitely turned it up a bit, and maybe the Hammers faded too.
August 28, 20213 yr Author I'd like Bruce to explain dropping Wilson for Joelinton... if he has faith in him to get goals, then what a nice chap.
August 28, 20213 yr Author What a great addition Brentford are to the Premier league. Non stop exciting football against a good Villa team
August 29, 20213 yr I'm not on board with all the Chelsea hype, everywhere I look all I see is Chelsea getting mentioned as major title contenders. It's only been 3 games so far for them and they were expected to beat Crystal Palace & Arsenal, also getting a draw against Liverpool is not a ground-breaking and historic result. They were in the lead and they threw it away and Lukaku didn't do anything during the match. By February/March Chelsea will be fighting for top 4 and you can quote me on that!
August 31, 20213 yr Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with rape and sexual assault. The 27-year-old defender is accused of four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault at his home in Cheshire. Man City always seem to be connected with these problem players following Ched Evans & Adam Johnson! @1431719000577396736 This really surprises me. He's always been a decent player but never more than that. Never scored more the 10 goals in a PL season (I know he's had his injuries but he's always played 20+ games a season). So this remarkable turn in form has to go down as one of the shocks of the season. I think they are contenders as they probably have the best defence in the league. A point away at Anfield with a man down for a hour is impressive. Liverpool blew that game not Chelsea imo.
August 31, 20213 yr Agreed. The squad is definitely more than the sum of its parts. Wouldn't say any single player other than Kante is the best in the world in their respective position but here they are as Champions of Europe. Jorginho was their highest scorer last year with a hefty 7  so adding potentially 20+ goals from Lukaku makes them one scary prospect. Edited August 31, 20213 yr by Dobbo.
August 31, 20213 yr I think if any team are going to take the title off City Chelsea are definitely the most likely to do so, they've deep squad and the fewest weaknesses.
August 31, 20213 yr I think if any team are going to take the title off City Chelsea are definitely the most likely to do so, they've deep squad and the fewest weaknesses. The thing with Chelsea is their strength currently is the system. Surely they have to move away from their 3421 formation they have got going though? They've too many inside forwards and midfielders now. I think Chelsea will be there or thereabouts, but City are still the team to beat.
September 1, 20213 yr Author Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy will remain in custody ahead of a potential trial on rape charges after a bail application was refused.
September 1, 20213 yr Author Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has signed a new contract with the club, extending his stay at Etihad Stadium until 2026. Ederson, who joined in 2017, has won three Premier League titles at City and has played 194 games for the club.
September 3, 20213 yr Author Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the number seven shirt for Manchester United, the club has confirmed. The 36-year-old takes the number, which he wore in his first stint at Old Trafford, from Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani - who moves to number 21.
September 11, 20213 yr Viva Ronaldo! :D I always knew he would score today, the man is a machine and the most proven goalscorer in the world. Give him the golden boot now I say! I'm glad Lingard and Bruno got on the score sheet as well as it is a team game after all and what a goal it was from Bruno. Newcastle defended well for most of the match though, especially in the 1st half and despite not scoring Allan Saint-Maximin & Miguel Almirón caused us quite a number of problems. Pretty gutting for Brentford to lose by conceding a 90th minute goal against Brighton who themselves have made a good start to the season. In other news Arsenal finally win a match
