Welcome to the Semi Final of Lady Gaga's least fave singles poll & bowing out in 4th place is Alejandro, with 13 votes & leaving just the final 3 left in the running. This always seems to do very well in these polls, finishing 5th in 2019, 7th in 2017 & 4th in 2014, making this ranking its joint highest & a highly respectable outcome. This often gets overlooked by the general public's standards, when it comes to naming Gaga's best moments, but thankfully the fans have kept this sparkling little gem near & dear to their hearts. Although it took me a while to fully appreciate this (I was one of those ones who wanted 'Dance In The Dark' as single #3), & hell even the music video doesn't match this track & would have been more suited to 'DITD'. However 'Alejandro's' violin-backed intro quickly gives way to a lush wall of melancholy electronic waves as Gaga bids her ex-lovers farewell over a stomping beat and a hopeful melody. Harking back to the Europop sounds of the 90's, but the production found something new amid the track’s sonic foundation, and crafted a song that sounds warm with a delicious flourish.


28 Votes were cast in the last round with 'The Edge of Glory' gaining the 2nd highest amount of votes with 9, making this the first time its gained more than 3 in the entire competition. 'Poker Face' got 4, then finally rounding things off 'Bad Romance' gets 2 votes.

Alejandro did better than I expected, it feels like a relatively underrated one in the grand scheme of Gaga's discography but one of my top faves :wub:

#7 then and that was without the ASIB and Chromatica singles! :o I do firmly believe it is aging like fine wine and people are into it now more than ever :dance:
