The label must be worried for the album performance when they keep moving the release date.

there is lots of problems in the hardcore dermot fanbase. Him and his label have added those tickets that increase in price depending on how many people want them ie. more people after them, higher the price. He is also being criticised because he is charging EXTORTIONATE rates (i'm talking $200+) for meet & greets, and fans aren't happy mainly because it goes against his 'humble' persona, and especially the fact that he's criticised meet & greets with high prices before. His team are also ignoring fans who question this and under his latest instagram post loads of people were asking about the date being pushed back, prices etc and he ignored those and shared a screenshot of fans 'supporting his decision' which the fans who are annoyed are taking as a big 'f*** you'

instagram account @permanent.reverie has 2 story highlights with ALLLLL the details if you want more but yeah atm its all shambles

There are hardcore Dermot Kennedy fans?

i meant his fanbase from before he had chart success

What I gathered from that is the Meet & Greets are $400 for a ticket and 0.002 second hello, they keep releasing different vinyls to pre-order while pushing back the release date presumably to avoid Drake’s album postal strikes and there are lots of angry fans as a result.

Those meet and greet prices are scandalous.

It's a high ask from his fans.

To be fair, I’d doubt they’d charge those prices if nobody was! From his social media I think he does have quite a dedicated fanbase.

Sales update from Music Week -

Lots of posts on social media from people that have managed to buy the album already where indie stores have put them out in error - mess tbh.
It seems some fans are not happy and were not made aware it’s been changed to 18th November.

Great to see that without fear will be platinum probably next week or the week after. The sonder campaign is just all over the place, and its fast becoming a mess which is a shame as without fear really established him in the Uk and this could derail things a bit, Id be shocked if it doesn't race to number 1 here in Ireland as he always does well here and without fear has never left the top 10 since it was released.

This has literally leaked everywhere and socials are awash with people that have managed to get copies today (mostly in America it seems) - definitely going to dent week 1 sales
Harry Styles' album was also leaked weeks before release and it still managed to sell a few copies.
There's definitely an issue as I stumbled across some frustrated fans who said they were annoyed about it being pushed back then found out others had received their album in the UK and abroad. He's done tons of promo concerts over the last week so UK #1 shouldn't be an issue really.

I wouldn’t consider Dermot Kennedy in the same league as Harry Styles? Was his album freely available to buy on CD and vinyl a week before release too in the US?

My point is leaks don't really have much of an effect on chart performance. The kind of people who would care to look up the leak are going to buy/stream the album anyway one would think.
