October 2, 20213 yr It’s all about opinions I guess… Indeed it is! Nonetheless, Return of the Mack isn’t decade defining.
October 2, 20213 yr Shame to see 'Who Do You Think You Are' as the Spice Girls' lowest #1 - it wasn't in my votes but it's better than some of their others. 'Lift Me Up' higher is a choice, also  'No Limit' is another one that was at the 'We Love The 90s' concert and popped off live!! But again no room </3
October 2, 20213 yr The first album I ever bought was Now 1993 (on cassette, no less) and No Limit was track 3 - that's the version I voted for, with the iconic "Techno, techno, techno, techno!" Couldn't find that version on iTunes or Spotify, last time I checked. Likewise for Don't Stop (Wiggle Wiggle) I didn't vote for the sweary version, which I don't think I've heard in full, but the one on Now 30 with minimal lyrics except "Energy! Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle!" I guess you had to be there
October 2, 20213 yr 83k according to my notes  Nick Wire always quoted 93,000 - and I really wouldn't question his authority on the matter  Edited October 2, 20213 yr by Colm
October 3, 20213 yr Nick Wire always quoted 93,000 - and I really wouldn't question his authority on the matter  well Return of the mack sold 90K A Design for Life would have been #1 if they sold 93K :D

October 3, 20213 yr Author NO 86- 67 POINTS World In Motion EnglandNewOrder (Voters: Rabbitfurcoat- 29 points, Jimwatts- 16 points, King Rollo- 22 points)- #1 for 2 weeks in June 1990 A football record that wasn’t rubbish- we were all amazed in 1990 Re4aDJL3heA
October 3, 20213 yr Author NO 85- 67 POINTS Innuendo Queen (Voters: Donnahjaneymack- 4 points, Xajnipi- 13 points, King Rollo- 30 points, Colm- 19 points, Dircadirca- 1 point)- #1 for 1 week in January 1991 Only 1 Queen track left in the rate and we lose another 30 pointer sadly! g2N0TkfrQhY
October 3, 20213 yr Nice to see World In Motion in the top 100 - New Order getting a #1, John Barnes' rap and England doing quite well in the accompanying tournament are all reasons to be cheerful.
October 3, 20213 yr Yes it is but I was still expecting it to go out at this stage. Edited October 3, 20213 yr by King Rollo
October 3, 20213 yr I hadn't really come across 'Innuendo' much until it appeared on the TOTP re-reruns, feels forgotten by Queen standards. It sounded great though with its unusual structure. 'World In Motion' is definitely one of the better football songs! 'Young At Heart' doesn't really do a lot for me. Still no more of my votes out in a while, not complaining!
October 3, 20213 yr I didn’t come across Innuendo at all until recently as I didn’t follow the charts until later and I don’t think it was on the radio much when I was young. It is really good - and in fact it came in the middle of a batch of really interesting and different Number 1s. Must be one of the lowest sellers on this countdown though. :(
October 3, 20213 yr Is that Bluebells performance from TOTP? Loved that Queen got a number one so late into their career before the tragic events of later in the year, shows they released a classic single to nearly every album right up until the end!

I also love The Show Must Go On and These Are the Days of Our Lives. It feels like Muse based their mid-period on Innuendo. Edited October 3, 20213 yr by Colm
October 3, 20213 yr It feels like Muse based their mid-period on Innuendo. Survival in particular sounds incredibly indebted. Nice to see Innuendo place high, thought I might be giving it its only point but clearly there's love out there.
October 3, 20213 yr Yes it is Thanks! The studio looked very boxy in that performance lol, think at the time they were trying to find the studio that became the norm in the second half of the decade so it changed a lot each week!
