I started stanning them around Get Weird and I heard so many people say that album and Glory Days were awful so I didn't bother. I did listen to Beep Beep, F.U and Down and Dirty and I know of Oops from the X Factor performance and was like 'no way am I listening to that album'. They were seriously horrible songs. As for Get Weird I know of Lightning which is a bop but again, I think I played a couple other tracks out of curiosity and they were shit so didn't bother with the rest.

As for DNA I know of Always Be Together which is actually a cute song and Madhouse which I enjoyed but the others just sounded so childish and Disney like that I couldn't get through the rest, and the only album track from Salute I know is Good Enough and that's the tour version.

LM5 and Confetti I listened to upon release and within a few weeks I'd already chopped half the album tracks off my playlists.

A bit curious- which album tracks from LM5 did you chop off? Or if easier, which ones have you retained?

I kept Wasabi, Forget You Not and Monster In Me. Think About Us is a bop as well.

For me Little Mix are at their best when they find that line between pop/fun and grown up/dark. When they dive too much either way it just puts me off. Songs like Sweet Melody, Move, Touch, Power, Happiness, Wasabi and Power are top tier Little Mix because they have those hooks and choruses that we love and they're not cheesy or 'bubblegum' songs you're ashamed to have on your playlist. Whenever they try get too serious and tackle subject matters that are important to them (which I obviously respect) it just makes their music a bit of a slog because they've not found a way to incorporate lyrical content like that into an actual catchy pop song outside of Wasabi. Stuff like Womans World and Strip should be MOMENTS because of what they're singing about but they're so tuneless and boring that you just don't care enough to listen again.

It's the same at the other end of the scale - they've got these really annoying 'cute' songs that make them sound as if they're teenagers. Nothing But My Feelings was straight in the bin because of the way they sang those verses and Not A Pop Song was again like kids trying to sound rebellious. They were on their sixth album at that point and those sort of songs should have been left in the Get Weird era.

Haha I wish I didn't, but I actually do agree with you to a large extent. Those top tiers you listed are also my faves (apart from Move - which has all the ingredients for a good Little Mix song but has never clicked with me - I know it's fans' fave!)

I might be in the minority, but my stanship for this group is just that I really like them as a group, and I just want the best for them. I know they're absolutely talented and are so painfully underrated. So yes I do stream their songs sometimes without actually listening - a lot of times actually.

Saying that, I still love No, and Love (Sweet Love), and Cut You Off chorus!

Is this the thread for the Graham performance? It's a shame their mics were so low. They had to adjust on the fly to try and compensate for it.

I look forward to Honest Vocal Coach's inevitable review.

The split announcement and coverage should help sales of the greatest hits. Really hope it can have a long chart run and sell even in the 2-3k range for a good while to come.
Confetti remains their best album for me :P

I think it's solid! I mean, it's not cohesive and very much all over the place but if I skip 'Not a Pop Song' and that dodgy ballad near the end I forget the name of it's a highly enjoyable listen.

that dodgy ballad near the end I forget the name of it's a highly enjoyable listen.

OOMPH!! Ahahaha, I'm HOWLING.

But yes, imagine if 'Between Us' replaced the dodgy ballad and 'No' replaced 'Not A Good Song' it would have been untouchable.

Loved the performance but it’s a shame their mics were kinda messed up. At the beginning you could barely hear Jade and Leigh. Still stunning though

Their album are absolutely fine to me

Confetti > Glory Days > Salute > LM5 > Get Weird > DNA

And Between Us is a solid 5/5 tracks

All their albums are better than any album by any other girl group

But this is my opinion ,

They can't please everyone's taste

The new At home video is epic!

Honestly coming away from that makes me think this break is almost indefinite until a big reunion!

Jade mentioned the next 10 years on her own so maybe we are heading down a JLS / Wanted route in terms of timeline.

Really sad now :(

Jade definitely seems like she's not ready to go solo, where as Perrie is excited to go out on her own and try new things.

Interesting that it's only part 1. Don't really know what else there is to talk about for there to be a part two.

I absolutely loved that so much.

Makes me even more sad we won't have LM music for a while.

God, I love these girls.

I was very happy it was a long doc and that it is listed as 'Part 1', interested to see what Part 2 will focus on!

I think their albums are generally really strong as whole listens. DNA isn’t the best but it’s their debut and they were figuring their sound etc. I could listen to all their other albums though all the way through but I’d probably rank them as

1. Get Weird

2. LM5 (their worst era for singles but as a whole album it’s so good!)

3. Glory Days (their best era for singles)

4. Salute

5. Confetti (I still like this but it has less stand outs than any other of their albums bar DNA for me. Happiness and Breathe are strong album tracks but the rest are all average by their standards)

6. DNA (As a debut album it’s fine but you can hear the progression and confidence growth that comes in later records (even Salute) and and the vocals just get better too but fine for a debut.

I’m sad Between Us is it for a while. I feel like the last few singles were rushed. I really hope we get full on trio mix for the comeback.

Honestly they could really get a huge hit again if it’s the right track and video.

Looks like the break announcement and Graham Norton performance has had a good effect on the album, looks like it has risen on all streaming sites and had climbed on Amazon, hoping for a return top 5 🤞🤞
Watching that documentary pretty much confirms it for me that Perrie's definitely the one pushing for the break more than the other two.

The documentary was obviously filmed before August, any chance any of their stances could have changed?

I do think it's impossible to tell when/if they're coming back. So much can happen to make or mar it. One of them could become so big that she wouldn't even be able to fit in LM activities into her schedule. And even though we hate to admit it, Jesy could actually re-join them in future. Only time will tell. In summer 1998, NOBODY would think Geri could ever become a Spice Girl anymore. People's interests also change and one or two of them might never want to return to singing, this is whilst still being very close to the rest of the girls.

I'm hoping they return, and soon enough; but it's very possible that this would be the end of Little Mix as we know them (the singing, performing girl group). I have no doubt however, that they will keep being friends/family.

I really really really do not think Jesy will ever be allowed back. She didn’t just leave, she burnt all bridges. This isn’t a Geri situation at all I don’t think.
