I just don't like that title No

My name is NO my sign is NO my number is NO.

Imagine the horror if it was a cover. Although I will say, it would continue that nostalgic 90s sound awfully well.

It must be so frustrating to write, produce and record a song then spend so much time/money doing a video for it and to watch it flop completely. I know that happens to the majority of musicians anyway but they must be shocked to see it doing so badly. I wouldn't be surprised if they ditch it for the tour.
has there. ever been a little mix single not to go to b list!

I think the song will benefit from the release of Jesys debut as their band will be everywhere again.

They've had such a strange release order this year.

April, May, July, September

It was too much.

February, May, July, October would probably have served better. The sing may rebound a bit but it will be unlikely to go top 20.

Why would they not even bother discounting it?

Because it's #170 on spotify from yesterday 😑

having had the song for a few weeks now, I can confidently say that it’s one of my least favourite songs from them so far, from the vocal delivery to the melody and the lyrics. I hope the other four new songs are more my cup of tea!
I actually really love this song there singing there faces off all the way through . I think the problem is it’s not very current sounding in terms what type of songs do well in the charts these days . Back in the day of the early/mid 2000’s this would have probably been a smash !

It's hard to believe though that Little Mix does not have up to 30,000-40,000 diehard fans in the UK who would stream this song at least twice each day on Spotify to keep the numbers going; and this would include their close friends and family.

Let's forget about whether we like the song or not.

It's their first proper new song as a trio without a feature. With that landmark as a new era, and the efforts they've put in despite their circumstances, I kinda expected better. A new era Ariana Grande/Adele/Ed Sheeran song would pull decent numbers because the stans are huge enough - whether the song is "good" or not; even if it's not the most streamed song if the general public isn't feeling it much.

No, I'm not equating these acts with LM; I just expected better than this considering LM status and fanbase in the UK. Or perhaps I was wrong, and the fan base are more casual than I thought. People still stream songs they don't like through headphones and not actually listen to the songs.

The interesting thing is that 2 of my closest friends who do not like little Mix songs actually like this one. One of them says LSL, Secret Love Song and Sweet Melody are their only decent songs (their opinion).

Sometimes there's no formula to these things!

I love the girls, but i'm not going to go out of my way to play a song I don't really enjoy much and just bare it in the hopes it'll help its chart performance (I tried that at the start).

If this had physical CDs sure i'd definitely buy them to help support, it's just unfortunately their weakest song for me in the past few years.

However, saying all this I'm sure the song will grow on me when it is performed on tour.

I do not think the fans should be blamed for the song not doing well, it just was a rare misfire from the girls releasing this as a lead. The fans can't do everything, it would have helped having a better video with another scene (even if it was just sitting in a different setting would have helped make the video more re-playable/interesting).

I mean, their die hard fans on these forums aren't even streaming the song (I've played it maybe 5 times since I heard it) so I don't know what hope there is that casual fans would bother. Everyone who's in the mood to listen to Little Mix are probably still just searching their name on Spotify/Apple/YouTube and playing Heartbreak Anthem, Sweet Melody, Confetti or Kiss My (Uh Oh) instead as they're still pretty 'fresh' and better songs.

It's been said many times - it's just too much releases in a short space of time. Nobody could get away with it. And it's TECHNICALLY their first proper new song as a 3 piece but again, to the casual fans it looked like Confetti was the first release and that was months ago.

Interesting flop/underperformance whatever you wanna call it. It's not like Kiss My (Uh Oh) is any better, but it's credited to Anne-Marie as well which makes the difference. The overexposure is real. They are lucky that the next album is GH though, they have the hits and decent catalogue streams to keep it afloat.

IS "Overexposure" actually a thing? Especially when certain artists can literally be on the radio constantly with multiple hits at the same time etc.. or is it LM brand of pop that is "overexposed" or whatever? (Serious question not meaning to be rude aha)
