Great week for him in the US where 'Shivers' climbs to a new peak of 4 and 'Bad Habits' returns to the top 10 at no.8.

I just listened to that Oh Why song it apparently plagiarises and it's TENUOUS at best. Highly doubt Ed had heard this bland song by some nobody too. At least he'll get a few sympathy/curiosity streams as a result.

Good. Crazy that this particular case even made it so far.

The 'oh I' bit in Shape Of You literally just goes four straight notes up a scale, as millions of songs do. And 'oh why/oh I' is hardly a revolutionary lyric that someone would bother plagarising, it appears in countless songs.

There was a piece in the Independent a couple weeks ago which made a similar point, i.e. that the chances of a short passage in two different songs being very similar purely by coincidence are not that remote, even though Sheeran's lawyers apparently couldn't find a third song with a similar passage.

If I had written "Oh Why", I'm sure my first reaction to hearing Shape Of You would have been "That's my song!" because the similarity is very strong. However, I can't help wondering whether Sami Chokri received some bad legal advice. Alternatively, he went ahead despite being advised that he would probably lose.

The “Tour Edition” is out on Friday. 9 extra tracks, including 2 new ones and the 2 unreleased tracks from the film “Yesterday”. The others will presumably be some of his recent collabs.
Ed said last year that he had worked on a song with Max Martin that he didn’t put on the album. So I imagine that’s one of the new songs and might be pushed as a single.

Cue the renewed "oh he's so desperate" comments!

I'm looking forward to hearing the Max Martin collab if that's on there.

Was there any word so far on this version being released physically?

Interested to hear the new songs, I guess it should boost the album quite a lot, not by enough to get past Harry though (and I guess Will Young too).

There doesn’t seem to be a physical version being released at the moment.

I’m surprised Ed hasn’t waited a couple of weeks for Liam Gallagher’s album and to let the hype of Harry’s album to die down and try and sneak another week at number 1.

Oh yes, the small matter of Liam releasing too! So Ed will quite likely fall while significantly increasing his sales. A good week to be a British solo male.

Ah, he has eventually put 'Peru' on this album after all then, just not until months after it peaked. Something something fake playlist streams. 'Afterglow' finally having a place on an album as well.

Lol at '2step' being on this three times. No sign of the J Balvin collabs though - I wonder if the teased/speculated full album collab with him will still be happening, I think I saw something about some recording sessions having to be cancelled because J Balvin couldn't get into the UK.
